Looking back at.....the Legend of Zelda: Majora´s Mask!

If you´ve played the Legend of Zelda: the Ocarina of Time then you´ve probably also played the Legend of Zelda: Majora´s Mask. It´s a fun game that takes everything you know from the Ocarina of Time and puts it in Majora´s Mask with some new things. I must admit that I prefer the Ocarina of Time but that doesn´t make Majora´s Mask a bad game, it´s a challenge that isn´t for everyone!

So what is the big difference between Ocarina of Time and Majora´s Mask? Well in Majora´s Mask you don´t grow older, you wear different masks that allows you to transform into another being and you have three days to beat the game or everyone will die! Ok that probably sounds a bit dramatic, but it´s actually the way it is. You have three in game days, not actual days, to beat the game or else the moon will crash on the planet! Thanks to the ocarina (of time) you can rewind the three days whenever you want to, so you can replay those three days as many times as you want. But that also means that things will happen over and over again. But once you completed a dungeon you don´t have to do that again. But if you´re halfway in a dungeon and then rewind time then you do have to do it all over! So you might want to hurry with that!

Link can transform? No not into a car, I think something else already has that covered. Link can transform into other creatures from Hyrule, for example a Goron and a Zora. In these forms he also gains new powers and plays different instruments, which is actually pretty cool! All he has to do is wear a specific mask and he transforms into the creature on that mask. There are several other masks as well but only a few gain you the ability to transform, but it´s still cool that you have these abilities.

In a way Majora´s Mask is a bit more familiar than you think, it´s like it takes place in an alternate universe because you meet familiar faces but with different names and they don´t recognize Link. But also the controls and some of the items should look familiar, this makes this game a lot of fun to play after the Ocarina of Time. Of course you´ll also learn other tunes to play with your ocarina and some of the weapons/items will also look familiar. It´s a bit weird sometimes but it´s a lot of fun, I guess the only complaint I have is that you stay young Link while I really prefer to be adult Link like in the Ocarina of Time. But the game is definately fun to play, I could tell you more about the story but I think you should just play it yourself and discover that not everything is as it would seem!
