GTA Online redemption!

No this isn´t a combination of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption, this is actually a way of me saying that GTA Online is finally what I hoped it would be. You see when I first started playing GTA Online, from the start in October, things didn´t work so well and I wasn´t very positive about GTA Online. I´m glad to see that Rockstar has fixed this and even improved certain things, which is what you can expect about ten months later but still it´s nice to see that everything is looking good!


When I first started playing GTA Online there were a lot of issues, one of the most annoying is having issues getting in an online session. It seems simple but I remember that the first time I tried that I spend a lot of hours on that and with nothing to show for it! Then when you finally do get in there was this annoying intro mission (a race) that would often lead to an endless loading screen, which often means that you have to back out and try to get back in. If by some miracle you got past all that then you still had saving issues, the game wouldn´t always save your progress and that means that everything you did until your last save point could be for nothing. This was probably my biggest issue with GTA Online and the main reason why I left it after a month of enduring that!


But now things seem to be good, the game saves on a regular basis without any troubles (for as far as I know) and I have no issues getting in an online session. As a bonus I even got my lost levels back, you see I made it to level 50 and I constantly lost progress which means the next time I got back in the game I was level 45. I don´t think I have to mention how annoying it is to level up the same levels several times, but it seems Rockstar has fixed this and I´m very happy with that! Also things you buy stay in your possession, so far I haven´t had any incidents where I lost an apartment or car. Even the Amercian dream achievement seems to be fixed, well I still had to buy a new garage and then bought a new house. But I got it! So I´m happy about that as well, so it seems GTA Online is finally what I was hoping it would be and I´m curious what else there is in store for GTA Online.


Of course there is free dlc but I think most people are looking forward to heists, something that will probably become available with the launch of GTA V on the new generation of consoles and pc. I guess that would make the game complete, because those heists have been promised about a year ago. So maybe things aren´t perfect yet but it´s fun to play some GTA Online. If the zombie rumor is going to be real then that´s also some interesting dlc that we can expect. So I think it´s safe to say that things are looking good for GTA Online!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? There is nothing wrong about being serious, but I think there is a time and a place for everything.
