Unfair or just business?
I think a lot of CoD gamers on the Playstation 3 and/or 4 are familiar with the unfair advantage that Xbox 360 and Xbox One players have when it comes to dlc. Because they get it a month earlier and that´s not really fair, but it´s business as Microsoft made a deal (in other words gave a lot of money to make certain that this would happen) about this dlc advantage. But with these deals don´t help anyone, they actually hurt players as it´s less fun when you have to wait longer for the same stuff that others can already play.
Does this happen a lot? More often than you think, just think of the deal between Bungie and Sony. This means exclusives for Playstation 3 and 4 players in the game Destiny, it might seem that this doesn´t matter but it can have some serious nasty side effects for Microsoft if Destiny becomes very popular and that these exclusives make people prefer to play on the Playstation 3 and 4! Once again one side (Xbox 360 and Xbox One players) get screwed and the other side (Playstation 3 and 4 players) get benefits. Maybe this is the way it´s meant to, we can´t all be happy and perhaps you need misery for others to be happy. Well maybe that´s just a bit too spiritual in a balanced way of thinking, but it´s sad to think that we can´t just all get the good things and all enjoy games to the fullest.
It´s not a surprise that this makes people angry, I think Bungie got a lot of hate from people that probably first loved their Halo games and were pretty excited about Destiny. But things change, money makes the world go round and no matter how much a developer will say that he or she does it for the people there is always money that can be even more persuasive. Because to be honest here it´s quite obvious why developers keep doing this, the money!
So everyone is bad? Perhaps, but I would say that out loud because where there is bad there is also good. Just look at the amount of free to play games and other free stuff you can get for your games. Of course there are also plenty of developers that want money for what they offer you, but it´s good to know that not everyone is like that. But to be honest it´s a business this game industry, it´s not about charity but about making money! It´s sad but true...
