You know you´re a rager when...
So today I´m starting with something new, the you know you´re a ..... series. It´s nothing serious and purely for amusement, but it could be a way to recognize certain behaviour online and maybe even offline. Harsh words may be used but it´s not an attack on anyone, so I hope you enjoy this as much as I hopefully will enjoy typing it.
The rager, this is someone you can easily recognize in an online match with other players. Because most of them are loud and easily annoyed, so they´re not always the most popular type of gamers to play with and yet you can find a lot of them in certain competitive multiplayer games. A rager doesn´t play games to get mad, I think deep down a rager just wants to have fun but fails to do so because of a bad performance and he or she just can´t handle that which often means blowing off some steam in the form of verbal abuse. But there are also ragers that use physical violence on their environment, which is something they often regret afterwards. A rager isn´t a bad person, but it´s someone that can say and do bad things. The rager can be amusing to see in action, someone elses misery can be your amusement, but in a way he or she is a tragic character because he or she doesn´t want to get mad because of random bullshit. All they really want is to have fun just like others, but sometimes fail to do so.
How do you recognize a rager?
* They get angry very quickly, usually because they don´t perform so well in a match.
* When they´re mad they´re loud, it´s difficult not to hear them unless you mute them.
* At the peak of their anger the words they say become less understandable.
* They often want to keep a low profile but because of their anger they draw attention to themselves.
* You´ll notice when they get mad when they talk more, which is often frustration.
Things you might not know about ragers.
- A rager doesn´t always rage quit, some stay in the game until the end. But their anger is difficult to ignore if you don´t mute them!
- You might not believe it but there are also female ragers, which is logic because anger isn´t restricted to males only. But it often does suprise male gamers to hear a girl go crazy with anger.
- A lot of ragers aren´t proud of being a rager, they hate their outbursts and try to stay calm for as long as possible. But the longer they stay in a match that annoys them, the easier it becomes to get mad.
- Some ragers actually use their anger outbursts for comedy, which helps them relax a bit more and makes them less annoying in a match. Some even have succes on youtube with their rage videos.
You might think differently about ragers now or you might even recognize a (little) rager inside of yourself. It´s nothing to be ashamed of, I mean we all have our flaws and nobody is perfect. I´m a rager and as much as I hate to be one I´ve learned to accept it, I get angry quickly but that doesn´t keep me from having fun in matches. Sometimes you just have to make the most of what you have, so don´t think that a rager can´t have fun in games. It´s just a bit more difficult when you get annoyed that quickly!
