The gamertag you want but can´t get...
Some people don´t really care about their gamertag, which often reflects in some of the silly and just stupid gamertags out there. Then there are also people who just add a popular name followed by a number, it doesn´t really matter to them or they really want that specific gamertag even if that means having a number in their gamertag. But what if you´re picky and you want a specific gamertag without any other letters or symbols in your gamertag?
When you´re first you get to chose first? With a lot of internet related things, usually the first one gets to pick the best names or gamertags. Which usually means that the good ones are often gone within days, so it does pay off to be quick with something good. Still with some imagination and creativity you can come up with an interesting gamertag or at least something else than Jack117MC or Hitsyourtits. But it´s frustrating when there is already someone that got the gamertag that you wanted but that person seems to be offline since 2009, which means that person is still holding on a gamertag they don´t even use. I don´t think that´s right, after a year of not using an account then the gamertag should be released so others can claim it. Because it´s stupid to let someone hold a gamertag they don´t seem to use anymore. It´s not about registration or making people go online all the time but I think once a year seems to be quite reasonable to be online, because if you only play offline then why do you need that specific gamertag? You could call yourself anything and nobody would know or care.
So how do you pick a good gamertag that is already taken? Think of stuff you like, things you like to do or that interests you. Maybe even your job can inspire you to think of something interesting and even more important unique. Because that´s what it´s about, you think of something others haven´t thought of and then you have a good chance that your gamertag is still available. But maybe you can contact Microsoft or Sony and tell them about you wanting a certain gamertag and that someone else is holding it on an account that hasn´t been active for several years, with some luck they might actually help you out by making the gamertag available again. Of course this is a big maybe, I can´t say I´ve ever heard of anyone that got his or her gamertag that way. Still you can always try, otherwise you´ll just have to come up with something original and hopefully that gamertag is still available. Whatever you do, don´t become random name number who gives a fuck!
