Why can´t I win?

Sometimes I see messages of people that are new to a game and constantly get destroyed in matches, which doesn´t really help them enjoy the game. Especially when you´re new to games like Battlefield or Call of Duty then you´re in trouble when you have very little experience with these type of games. But also fighting games like Street Fighter or Tekken come with frustrations, we all lose sooner or later but when you lose every fight then things get annoying very quickly!

How do I win? Well I could say you need to practice and find your way in a game, but sometimes you´re just not good enough in a game. Some people will say that with practice you can be good at any game, but really sometimes your reflexes are just too slow and with other games you just have difficulties remembering all button combinations. Not that I´m saying you can´t win with doing the same move over and over again in a fighting game, but really you don´t want to be that guy or girl! Just because you like playing a certain type of game doesn´t make you automaticly good at it. The same counts for people beating a game on the highest difficulty, this doesn´t automaticly make you a god in multiplayer. Why? Because people online are unpredictable, sure some might fall into a certain pattern but overall people just do things that you can´t always counter. That doesn´t mean that you should give up the moment things look bad, you can always improve yourself and as long as you know your limits then you should be fine in multiplayer. Find something you like to do and where you´re also good at, that´s probably the ideal combination for multiplayer fun.

Something that shouldn´t be forgotten is that you should also pick the right time to join a multiplayer game. Which means that months after the release of the game you can bet that most people in multiplayer know what they´re doing, the later you join the more veterans you´ll have to face. Which makes it tough for new players, but sometimes that´s the best way to learn! To force yourself to perform better and learn faster. I´m not saying that this is a tactic that is flawless, but it will sometimes bring out the best of your skills. Maybe the most important thing is just to have fun, don´t get bothered by defeat and just do your own thing in a multiplayer match. Sure your teammates might hate you, immature winners will make fun of you and the unpleasant messages will come and go. The most important part is to have fun with a game! For me it helps if I also win, but I´ve had a lot of fun in matches that I didn´t win, so maybe winning isn´t everything? Ah who really knows...
