What´s that I see? Oh...

In the world of online multiplayer it´s not the fastest, strongest or smartest person that wins. No it´s often the one that is most cunning, the player that thinks outside the box or actually uses the obvious to his or her own benefit. You know when to strike and when to back off, which will then be turned into your favour because you lure someone into a trap. I think I´ve killed almost as much people with a bouncing Betty then with my smg in Black Ops 2, that´s because a lot of people don´t look where they walk or know that you can evade the blast by going prone (if you´re quick at least). Of course a lot of people like to camp, so it might be difficult to lure them into a trap but don´t be suprised that some of these campers get too confident when things are going well for them. Especially if you look like an idiot on the field they´ll come charging at you to put you in their sad little montage, only to be suprised that the ´idiot´ had put a trap just around the corner.

How to counter these trappers? Well Black Ops 2 has the engineer perk, this allows you to spot all enemy equipment on the field and definately helps you out. Of course mistakes can still be made, but combined with a black hat (a hacking device that helps you turn enemy equipment into friendly equipment or it destroys it) you can beat them. I´ve had battle with another engineer where we would constantly hack eachothers equipment, which was funny and also quite interesting. But not every game has this engineer perk, so how do you spot them in other games? Well running around corners might not always be smart, just as it is in real life you don´t run into battle if you don´t know what´s around the corner. But in a game you have multiple lives (most of the time) so you get a bit more reckless, which is quite understandable because I wouldn´t want to play it careful all the time either. Use grenades to blow up mines or other traps, especially if it´s somewhere around a corner and you have a strong feeling that there might be something waiting for you there. You might waste a grenade or you might save yourself from another death in the game. Also it helps if you don´t always pick the obvious route, because a path that is used a lot for travel is a path that is often covered with traps!

Being a trapper often gets you a lot of hate, but really these people should be angry at themselves for constantly falling for the same tricks. I slap myself in the face if I die twice in a game by the same trick, especially twice in a row. You´d think you learned from the first time but of course you can always fall for it twice or even more than that! I think that trappers actually make you learn from your mistakes, you have to be smarter than always attacking with the same strategy or using the same equipment. I like to be challenged and where I need to come up with another strategy to beat someone, not that I mind some mindless shooting but sometimes it´s nice to have a challenge!
