Which game should I buy?
With the new consoles on the way I think this might be an issue for a lot of gamers, because some games will be on the current generation consoles and on the new generation consoles. For everyone that wants to buy a new generation console it´s quite obvious to buy the latest games for that console, but what if the games that you want to buy launch before the launch of the new console? I don´t think you want to be stuck with a game that you´re probably not going to play on your ´old´ console. But that will probably mean that you´re going to fall behind with certain games like Assassin´s Creed IV and CoD Ghosts. If you don´t care about falling behind in multiplayer then I think it´s easy for you to wait, but if you like to compete and enjoy the fun from the first day then it might be difficult to wait!
The economic crisis isn´t really helping either, because we all have less money to spend on the things we like and that means you have to choose your games carefully. It´s another reason why you probably don´t want to buy a game twice, once for the current generation consoles and once for the new generation consoles. Well by now you´ve probably figured out that playing games is an expensive hobby, so you probably have learned to live with that. I know that I can´t buy every game that I want, because if I spend all my money on games then I have nothing left for other things. Maybe for the die hard gamer it´s not difficult, but anyone with other hobbies or interests might find himself or herself in quite a pickle when it comes to choosing where to spend your money on. The new consoles will also be expensive, the Xbox One the most unfortunately, and that doesn´t really help with your spending funds. So this switch to a new console and then buying the games for that console might be a bit too expensive for some of us, which makes buying games for the current generation of consoles a lot more interesting. But I guess some people just like the fancy graphics and the extra stuff that you get with buying it for the new consoles.
I think it´s easier for people who can´t get a new console this year, because the launch of the Xbox One isn´t in all countries at the same time. So for me it´s easy to buy the games I want, because there is no point for me to buy them for the Xbox One because it´s going to take several months before it launches here. So why should you buy games for a console you can´t even buy yet? But sooner or later you´ll buy one of the new consoles, maybe even both, and then you´re stuck with games you can´t play on that new console. I think some games will transfer your progress in multiplayer over on the new console, but unfortunately that doesn´t count for single player. I´m not that happy about that, but I guess that´s just the way it is. I would advice you to think about what you want to buy and if you should buy a game for the console you have now, because it´s a shame if you have to trade the game for a version of the new consoles. It feels like you´re wasting money then and it could´ve been avoided if you just waited a little bit longer.
