YouTube adventures -90- Knowing when to stop
All things come to an end, nothing lasts forever. At least that's what I've been told and in this case it's true, I quitting with YouTube and not truly because I want to but more because I have to. Oh nothing bad has happened here but I have no means to record anything and investing money into recording equipment isn't going to be cheap. Right now I prefer to focus on just playing games and having fun with that. But that doesn't mean that I'll never make another video. For now it's just better to move on with things and leave things as they are. Sometimes you just...
Know when to stop.
It was an unexpected pleasure to make videos. I didn't really know what to think at first, I wasn't hoping for money or fame but more just to have fun and I think I succeeded with that. Most of my videos were made with fun, sometimes even the rage videos turned out to be funny for me because hearing myself rant about random things is just silly. But I also made several playthrough videos, I wanted to make more but I'm glad I at least managed to make some and that was a lot of work. There were definitely moments that I was wondering if I should continue with that but I'm glad that I always finished those playthroughs.
I never really got a lot of views on my videos and that's fine, I was never into the whole watch my videos plus the like and subscribe line at the start or end of each video. If people want to watch my videos then that's up to them, the same counts for the likes and subscribing. I would never ask someone to do that and I think that this is up to the viewer and not for the YouTuber to mention that. But I understand that some people are heavily leaning on their YouTube channel and it must succeed for them. I'm glad that I was never in that position, for me it was just doing something I like and having fun with that.
The reason I started was because I wanted to make videos of moments that were so unique or hilarious and I wanted to share that with others. Unfortunately I constantly had to deal with the recorder's curse, as in nothing like that ever happens when you record, but I did manage to get some interesting moments on camera. It was always my intention to move from my camera to a capture device and even when I got one my laptop broke and I couldn't record anything. So I switched back to the camera and constantly tried to make things work but I was constantly stuck in the old loop of things. Which wasn't terrible but I honestly wanted to make better quality videos because watching my low quality videos isn't something I would recommend.
Later I tried to switch to more helpful videos, achievements guides and some tips for players in certain games. It worked with my camera issues for some time when my camera could only record for short moments of time. This killed all my chances on making more playthrough and multiplayer matches videos. Which is a shame but I managed to deal with that and find a way forward. But now I can't record anything, not even a minute. I would've made a video and explain it all but I can't record anything so that means I have to do it here. Which is a shame but in a way fitting seeing as I talk about YouTube here a lot.
I hope to come back one day, have better recording equipment and make better quality videos, I honestly would like to see that happen but I know that it will be difficult. But never say never, nothing is impossible! Right now it's probably better that I take a break from YouTube and so I also quit with my YouTube adventures blog posts. I will talk about certain things if they interest me but I won't go into much depth about YouTube anymore. I don't know what the future brings but I hope it's going to be good!
