I love Monday: It's a good time to be a gamer
I know that I usually talk about things I hate on Monday but because it's Christmas I can't be that negative, so I give this Monday a special theme of talking about what I love. So what do I love? Well I love playing games, obviously. But what is so good about playing games and why is it such a good time to be a gamer right now? Well let's find out!
Games are getting better and better?
There are unfortunately some exceptions but when you look at games in general then you can see that things are getting better. The graphics, gameplay, stories, character development and all the things you can do in these games. Some say that this isn't true, that stories suffer under all the action the developers try to shove into the newest games. But in truth it's not that bad, sure there are games that are disappearing into the action packed themes but you can't expect everyone to love a game that is full of conversations and hardly has any action. So it's a good thing there are a lot of different games, there should be a game out there for everyone and if everyone would give games a chance then I'm certain that most people would find at least one game they would like. I will admit that some of the old games are very dear to me and I don't think that any new games are going to change that. But sometimes games can surprise you. I mean who would've imaged the comeback of Resident Evil? After Resident Evil 6 so many people were so negative about the Resident Evil game series and now with Resident Evil 7 there are so many people excited about Resident Evil again. So I do think that things can get better and actually do get better over time, unfortunately it doesn't count for every game. But I wouldn't say that this means we should all be negative. Games are getting better and they're always changing, so let's just hope that it's a change for the best and not for the worst!
Why is it now such a good time to be a gamer?
Let's see...there are multiple consoles with asesome games, pc games that can keep you entertained for weeks if not months and so many different games that make you want to try at least half of them and that's already more than enough to keep you busy for the next five years. There is so much to choose and so much you can play. Almost every week there is a new game launching and often these are games worth checking out, I'm not saying that every game is amazing but a lot of games are worth checking out even if it's just to see if it's something for you. I think that gamers just don't have enough time and/or money to play them all and perhaps that's for the best. I mean as much fun as it is to play games you probably shouldn't spend that much time playing games, otherwise you might lose contact with your family and friends. But even that is covered, you can play online or with splitscreen on the couch together. Gaming isn't a selfish hobby, you can share it with friends and play together even when you live on opposite sides of the world! So yeah gaming is amazing and it is indeed a good time to be a gamer, but don't forget about other things. As much fun as games are it's not all there is in the world.
