YouTube adventures -89- Is YouTube still worth all the trouble?
It used to be such a fun thing, making videos and post them on YouTube. Of course you couldn't show everything and that makes sense. I mean videos of naked people, wether it's in a game or real it's all forbidden, and 'prank' videos where you actually end up hurting people for real aren't the type of videos I would make nor do I want to watch them. But lately it seems like hardly anything is allowed anymore. I mean a character only needs to show a shoulder and immediately there are alarm bells going off in YouTube headquarters it seems or if there is five seconds of a song heard in a video and you already seem to get a strike. I don't know about you but that seems like bullshit! So I can't help but wonder...
Is YouTube still worth all the trouble?
I'm a very outspoken person, when I'm annoyed or just feel like saying something bad then I will say it. We have that freedom here in my country and that's a great thing. I hate how YouTube is turning into a Disney channel type of bullshit where apparently the thought of a bad word might already get you in trouble. This has caused problems for some channels and might even prevent some channels from starting. People can't really be themselves anymore and we all have to live in a fake reality where we can only say oh gosh, darn it or oh gee. I mean seriously? What happened to fuck, shit, bitch or motherfucker? Let people speak their mind, when you're really pissed are you seriously going to say oh golly what a misfortune? No a normal person would most likely say fuck this shit!
I get the feeling like YouTube is turning more an more into some prison where you just can't be yourself anymore and I don't like it to say the least and this is actually one of the reasons why I don't feel like uploading anymore. Oh sure my camera sucks balls and makes it difficult to record but then to record something that doesn't sound at me at all is just not worth it. When I'm pissed I'm not going to be polite, I will be blunt and harsh like a normal person would be. I don't know what all this bullshit is about but I honestly hate it and I don't want to have any part of it. Which sucks because I enjoyed making videos and uploading them on YouTube. It was a way of expressing myself and eventhough it wasn't always good or nice it was at least my way of saying something no matter how dumb it sounded. I feel like that has disappeared and that makes YouTube a place I don't want to put videos on anymore.
So if you're starting with a channel you have to keep in mind that a lot of things won't be tolerated. Some obvious things but also some less obvious things. I can see how some people don't like the bad words but I think it's wrong to make it impossible to be yourself on YouTube anymore. It's not like the people of YouTube can check every video and that you always get caught when you say something bad but it won't surprise me that things will get worse from here on. Which means everyone that is starting with a channel on YouTube will have a much harder time than people that already have a channel and have succes with it. It might be difficult to adjust but to get started with this type of bullshit might be a lot more difficult.
