Updates, updates and even more updates...

I hate updates, sure they have their uses but when you get an update almost every week then you get tired of that very quickly! You see it´s not that I don´t value the update, I just hate the time it takes for the update to install and thus keeping me from playing the game I want to play. I wasn´t a big fan of that on the Xbox 360 but it seems things are even crazier on the Xbox One.


It takes even longer now?


Not only do you have to install all your games, which means you can´t play the game directly, you also have to deal with longer waiting times for updates. On the Xbox 360 a 250 mb update wouldn´t take an hour, but on the Xbox One it does! I don´t think I have to explain how annoying it is that this keeps you from playing a game, especially if you have to deal with an update on day one and you have to wait even longer before you can play the game.


Improved technology means more updates?


It certainly feels that way to me, because on my Xbox One I´ve faced double the amount of updates for only 10% of the total amount of games I had for my Xbox 360. Which is insane, but I guess with improved technology more complications await you. But let´s not forget that there are people out there that like to hack games or consoles and that also means you need updates to keep your console and game safe. It´s annoying but it´s thanks to random douchebags that we wait even longer before we can play.


Does it ever end?


The update will end, eventually. It probably won´t surprise you that right now I´m also unable to play a game thanks to an update. I´m not even mad that I get updates, I´m just upset that it takes so long for sometimes a small update to install. Did everything slow down when I got a new console or is this just more bullshit? I see the value in (some) updates, but the time you spend waiting on an update is just ridiculous now. It would be nice if things could go a bit faster, which means more time to play games and have fun!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers?
