Sinful Sunday: Looking for a girl gamer

I´ve noticed that a lot of guys ask online in a topic about gaming if there are girls that want to play games with them. The way they do that isn´t always the most charming way but I guess we all communicate in our own way. But I can´t help but wonder how succesful they are with such requests, because I often see these posts online with only a few replies. But when a girl asks for people to play games with then there are a lot of replies. That doesn´t seem fair to me...


Guys prefer to play with or against girls?


Not all of them, in some games I´ve heard some douchebags talk shit to a girl that joined the team and that kept going up to the point where she left. So I don´t think everyone is looking for girls to play games with, but I´m not surprised that there are a lot of guys out there that are looking for people to play games with and I don´t think that they would mind if there would be girls among the people that are interested.


But why do some guys ask specifically for girls to play games with?


It´s easy to assume that some guys are looking for a girlfriend that likes to play games but I think that´s too easy, maybe some guys just prefer to play with girls because it´s more fun? To me it doesn´t really matter, I have fun playing games with both guys and girls. Both guys and girls can be assholes online, so I don´t think it really matters with whom you play online. I´d say that age is more important than gender, because usually people around your own age are more fun to play with. Especially when you´re a bit older than the average gamer.


If I really want to play with girls, what should I do?


Play games? I can tell you what you shouldn´t do, go online and actively look for girls. That´s a bit creepy and I don´t think that you´ll be very succesful. If by some chance you meet a girl in a game and you had fun playing with her then you can send her a message, be nice and maybe she´ll want to play more games with you. Don´t be surprised if you don´t get a reply because there is a good chance that she gets messages all the time. I guess sometimes you just need a little bit of luck, but don´t let that keep you from enjoying a game!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? There is nothing wrong about being serious, but I think there is a time and a place for everything.
