Alan Wake sequel?!!!
For me Alan Wake was one of the best games I played, I really enjoyed playing the game and I couldn´t help but wonder if there would be a sequel. Well we got American Nightmare which takes place after the first game but I wouldn´t really call this a sequel. So everyone that enjoyed Alan Wake might be curious if there is going to be a real sequel for Alan Wake!
Does the game really need a sequel?
Well maybe not, but I wouldn´t mind getting back into the creepy atmosphere of Alan Wake and hopefully something similar to Alan Wake. I love the small town in the middle of nowhere where there is a dark secret and only the character you play can stop it. This is good stuff for creating a scary game or a good horror movie, it´s not about the amount of monsters or how scary they look. It´s the feeling you get when you walk in a hallway and suddenly the lights go out, you hear whispers by the window but when you look there is no one there. It´s these small things that can make a game very scary!
What would the sequel need?
I´d like to have more freedom, that I choose where to go and what to do. Also make it more of an investigation where I can talk with random people in the town and I have to figure out what to do next. This will slow the game down but I wouldn´t mind that, it actually makes it more interesting to play the game and figure out what´s going on. That doesn´t mean that you don´t have to pull out your gun, I would still like to have the fighting moments in the game but I´d prefer if this wouldn´t be the main part of the game. Make it so that you´re the new guy in town and there´s a secret you´re trying to figure out, people keep disappearing but no one seems to notice or care. This way even during the day when you´re surrounded by other people you´d still feel alone, that would still make it scary in a way.
Do you think that there really will be a sequel?
I wouldn´t say that it´s impossible, so far the rumors are a bit vague on that but there is definitely a chance. With the new consoles more things are possible so I´d love to see what the developers can do with that. But let´s not forget that they´re first working on Quantum Break, so hopefully after that game we´ll hear more about a sequel for Alan Wake.
