Does a game need a single player campaign?

With more people playing online it´s not a surprise that single player campaigns are disappearing, oh it might take some time before they´re gone but more and more you´ll notice how you´re put in games with other people wether you like it or not. I must admit that I wasn´t a big fan of that before but after playing Titanfall I did realize that it works and it´s not as bad as I first thought, I guess it just takes somegetting used to or should we try to keep the single player campaign alive?

Single player campaign is better?

I think it´s better if you play on your own, as in you don´t have any friends that play that game. So instead of being forced to play with random strangers you could just play on your own. It´s nice that this is an option that you get in a lot of games, but it´s possible that in the future this might change. You could try to see the benefits of it by meeting other people that like to play the same games as you but not every person online is friendly and sometimes you just want to play on your own in your own pace. Also it´s nice that you keep the game under control, as in you win or lose with your actions. For example if you make a mistake you lose, but at least it was your own fault. If you play with other people and they keep making mistakes then I don´t think you´re going to be happy with that.

Should you be forced to play with others?

Ok maybe forced isn´t the right word, but if you really want to play a game and you can only play it with or against others then it does feel a bit like you´re being forced. I think it´s a good idea to keep a single player campaign in games, just in case you want to play solo or there´s no one else around to play the game with. Especially when a game is a couple of years old it might be difficult to find people to play the game with, maybe with some luck a group of loyal fans stays with the game but I bet that matchmaking will be awful at that point.

Does a game need a single player campaign?

A game doesn´t need it, but it can definitely make things better! Not only can you play in your own pace, you also have a guarantee that you can play and that you control winning or losing and not some random douchebag that thinks it´s funny to screw the team over. Sure there can be fun experiences with other people but that doesn´t mean that everyone gets that experience. I think it´s better to give people an option, let people decide if they want to play with other people or not. Especially in a campaign it can be annoying when you constantly fail because of bad team mates and/or rage quitters. I don´t think a game needs a single player campaign but I do think it´s a good idea to keep that in games.
