Valentines Day for gamers
It´s that time of the year again, Valentines Day and if this is important to you or your loved one then you´ll probably make something special of this day. But if you don´t care about Valentines Day then it´s probably going to be a day just like any other. Does this also count for gamers? Do gamers also have a romantic heart? Let´s find out!
Gamers like romance?
I don´t think you can say that about every gamer but I´m pretty certain that one person isn´t the other and so it´s safe to assume that there are most likely romantic gamers out there as there are also gamers out there that don´t care about romance at all. In some games you´re even encouraged to do something romantic for another character in the game, for example in Dragon Age: Inquisition you´re trying to be romantic to Cassandra if you want to win her heart. But let´s not forget that before that you flirt with her and you´re nice to her, which is what most women would appreciate.
But what does romance mean for gamers?
That depends, once again one gamer isn´t the other and to say that this one thing counts for every gamer is stupid. The most important thing would be what type of person your boyfriend or girlfriend is and what type of person you are. If you both spend a lot of time in a game like World of Warcraft you could do something nice in the game for her when you´re both online. If you like to play games together (co-op style) you could play a game like Fable III or Saints Row IV together and have a lot of fun. If you´re both more competitive gamers you could face eachother in a first person shooter and if you´re a gentleman you could let her win, unless she would hate that and notice that then you could be a bit less motivated to win because beating your girlfriend might not really set the right mood. On the other hand she might actually appreciate you treating her like any other opponent, once again you probably know best how to handle that.
So it´s all about playing games?
Of course not! You don´t have to play games together, you could do anything and as long as it makes you both happy then that´s the most important thing. That doesn´t mean going to a fancy restaurant and spend a small fortune on some food, it means spending time with someone you care about and having a nice time together. So you could watch a (romantic) movie together, play some games, go out or whatever it is that makes you both happy. Even when you´re both fanatic gamers it might be a good idea to do something else for a change, because too much of something can be a bad thing.
And what if you´re single?
It doesn´t have to be a bad thing, but I can definitely understand that some people have a rough time with that. I guess you could go for a last minute date but I wouldn´t rush such things, Valentines Day isn´t about needing someone in your life on that day. It´s about spending time with someone you care about, that doesn´t mean someone you´re in love with but it can also be a good friend. So spending time with friends and having fun is also a good thing. If you´re friends are busy or if you don´t have that many friends then it´s a good idea to keep yourself busy. Play games, watch movies or at least do something that distracts you, because being reminded of having no one in your life on a day like Valentines Day can be rough for some people. Which is why I would advice you to just move on with your life, don´t think about it just keep yourself busy doing things you like. Who knows, you might even meet someone and you won´t have to spend next Valentines Day alone!
