Batman gets mature rating in Arkham Knight

It´s interesting to see that Batman has finally gotten a mature rating instead of a teen rating, because the adventures of Batman aren´t that sweet and I think that with a mature rating the developers can show a more intense story than with the teen rating. Of course it remains to be seen how good this game is and what exactly makes this game so scary.

Why is it good that a Batman game gets a mature rating?

This mean less Batman Forever or Batman and Robin stuff and some more Batman and Batman Returns things going on in Arkham Knight. In other words things will get darker and a bit more scary. I don´t think mature means sex in a Batman game but it´s not impossible, something that Metal Gear Solid 3 proved. From what I saw in the trailers it´s most likely about some scary faces, I´m not even talking about Two Face but Scarecrow is now probably the scariest character in the game. Hopefully this mature rating means a story that is truly worthy for Batman, not that Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are bad but good can always be better!

But this means that some younger fans will be missing out, right?

Well I´m not so certain about that, if you´ve ever played a first person shooter that´s also rated mature then you probably know that there are a lot of kids in multiplayer. So I doubt that this will stop kids from playing this game, maybe it will become a bit harder for them to get the game but I have no doubts that kids will play Arkham Knight.

So this will be an everything or nothing Batman game?

It´s going to be the last Batman game made by Rocksteady Studios so I´m not surprised if certain people will die, but how this all will happen still remains a mystery and so does the identity of the Arkham Knight. I guess we´ll all have to be patient and wait till June...
