Looking back at.....Far Cry 3!
It hasn´t been that long ago when I last played Far Cry 3, which isn´t surprising because the game launched in 2012. But that doesn´t mean that you can just forget about this game! Far Cry 3 is my first experience with a Far Cry game and I had a lot of fun playing it. But to be honest most games where you get a lot of freedom are fun to play!
It´s not the story that makes the game good!
You might be surprised that I don´t like this game for the story, especially since this is usually one of the things I like about games. I like this game because of the freedom and all the things you can do, it gives you so many options and the best part is that you don´t have to do all of that to make it to the end. Of course things become easier if you upgrade your gear and improve your skills with the experience points you earn. But getting back to the story I would like to add that it´s not a bad story, it´s more of a typical one guy to save us all story and yet there can be a nasty twist in that story. I won´t give away anything else, because if you haven´t played the game then you don´t want me to tell you what happens!
Hostile environment!
On the island a lot of things are dangerous, it´s not just the pirates that hunt you down or the animals that attack you if you get too close, there are traps and places where you can easily fall down a hole in the ground or maybe you have a bad landing with your glider and that can be fatal as well! Survival doesn´t go so far that you need to drink or eat a lot to stay alive, but if you get wounded because someone shot you then you´ll have to get the bullet or arrow out of your body and then bandage yourself. This takes a moment and you´re quite vulnerable when you do that, but if you don´t do it then the next hit might kill you! Your skills can help you with this by making you tougher or make you more sneaky so you could even avoid certain confrontations. The main goal is still saving your friends and getting off the island, so don´t think you can sneak your way out of there!
Fun, excitement, action, sex!
Sex? Yes sex, it seems that the developers weren´t afraid to go a bit further in this game and that´s not a bad thing. The action is also brutal, you can kill enemies but also animals in brutal ways, which might be a bit too much for some people but others like it. Of course there are also games that you can play, for example card games, if you´re tired of all the killing and/or exploring. There is also a co-op mode where you can play with up to three other people in co-op missions. You can also play with a friend in splitscreen if you don´t like playing online. The missions can be a bit of a challenge sometimes, but they´re also a lot of fun and definitely worth checking out! There is also a multiplayer mode for some team deathmatch and other things you can do if that´s your thing, but I doubt many people still play that at this point. Far Cry 3 is a lot of fun and if you haven´t played this game yet then I can definitely recommend it to you!
