Games that aren´t fun to play
Sometimes when I play a game I can´t help but have the feeling that I just don´t belong in that game. It´s not only that I fail miserably but also the lack of fun that I have with the game, then you really get that feeling like what are you doing here? When everything you do is met with frustration and anger, then it´s better to stop playing that game. Even if you had high expectations before, sometimes it´s better to walk away sane then to go so far that you go insane with frustration.
I´ve had that with GTA V so many times, the difficulties with getting online and the terrible save system have taken a toll on me. But let´s not forget the constant annoying factor of other players trying to kill you for no reason at all. I get it when you have a bounty on your head but not when you´re just trying to drive from one place to another. Personally I believe that GTA V is meant to be played with friends, random strangers are just too unstable to actually trust and work with. When you play a mission and then half way the others decide to leave is just lame. I´ve played search and destroy in CoD Ghosts and yes it sucks when you go out early in the match, but you don´t back out just because of that do you? It´s really small things like this that build up your frustration and then you can only get to one logic conclusion, stop playing this game!
So what do you do then? It´s nice if you can get your money back, which often means that you return it as soon as possible! But I wouldn´t count on that, because you hardly ever get all your money back. Which means you could try to sell it to someone else or just keep it in a dark and lonely corner of your room. It would be smart to look at the game and think about what you didn´t like about that game, hopefully that will save you from buying another game like that! The last thing you want to experience in a game is frustration, that´s about the opposite of fun for a gamer. Just remember that fun for one person in multiplayer is sometimes frustration for another, so also might want to check what type of modes you play in a game. I´d say if you prefer singleplayer games then it might be smart to stick to that, even when a multiplayer game looks interesting. The best argument for buying a multiplayer game or a game where there is a popular multiplayer would be if you have friends that play that as well, because you don´t want to play with random strangers in a game that can annoy the crap out of you.
Stick to games that you like, also it´s smart to try a demo if you can or just do a lot of research before you buy the game. Which often means checking out some gameplay videos and reading some articles in respected magazines, because a lot of random magazines will give it a good grade just for having nice graphics or a cool weapon. Especially in these bad economic times you don´t want to waste money on something that will annoy you, talk about a waste of time and money! If you´re not having fun when you play a game then you really have to ask yourself why you play it. Because do you enjoy frustration? Well I don´t, even when thousands of players have fun with it then it doesn´t mean I have fun with it. Don´t be a part of the machine but think for yourself, play the games that you like and have fun. Isn´t that how it´s supposed to be? Well I like to think it is!
