Final Fantasy XV is looking interesting!
I used to be a fan of Final Fantasy, a lot of memorable moments in gaming come from Final Fantasy games and I still have fond memories of playing those games. But Final Fantasy changed, the characters became weirder and less interesting with almost every new FF game. But Final Fantasy XV might change that, it looks like this game could finally be the FF game that a lot of fans have been waiting for!
What makes FF XV so interesting?
Several things but the one thing that´s really important to me is the amount of freedom you have in this game. You decide where you go and also how you get things done, which means you choose your path and also if you want to fight enemies or not. You´ll see enemies on the map and that means that you can choose to fight them or not, there´s no random encounter going on where every five steps you have to fight. Enemies will spot you if you get too close and attack you if you stay in their line of sight for too long. When you want to complete a mission, for example earning money to fix your car, then there are multiple ways of doing that and not just the one thing you have to do. I don´t think that this counts for every mission but at least you get some options with some missions, that also keeps things interesting and makes a second playthrough more appealing.
Who is the main protagonist in FF XV?
This might not interest you that much but I find it important who your character will be in the game. If the main character sucks then that can ruin the entire game! But so far I´m actually liking the main character, he looks pretty cool and also has some nice skills with his sword. His name is Noctis Lucis Caelum and he´s a prince in a royal family, what that exactly means is still a mystery to me but hopefully that means you play an interesting part in the story. But Noctis isn´t on his own, he has three friends that accompany him and that assist you in fights. Their teamwork is actually quite nice, for example if you do a counter (dodge an attack and then attack back) on an enemy when one of your team mates is near then you´ll do a counter combo and that´s pretty cool! At this point I can only guess what the story is but it wouldn´t surprise me if it´s about friendship and loyalty, at least that would make sense to me.
Is FF XV worth checking out?
Yes! But I´m still a bit reluctant, after enduring the horrible Final Fantasy XII and the disappointing Final Fantasy XIII I can´t help but be a bit more careful. The last thing I want is to buy a game that isn´t fun to play so I´ll keep checking this game and learn as much about it as I can before I buy it. The demo would definitely help make up my mind, but unfortunately that´s restricted to people that pre-order Final Fantasy Type-0. At least we still have time before Final Fantasy XV comes out so if you´re not certain if you want to buy it you can still think about buying it. I have a good feeling about this game, if I have to be honest with you. Not that this would mean anything special but sometimes it´s a good thing to listen to how you feel about something, hopefully that makes it easier to decide if this game is something you´re looking for.
