Playing for the other side in Assassin´s Creed

The new Assassin´s Creed game code name Comet is, if I have to believe the rumors, going to let you play as a templar. To me this is great news, because I always wanted to play as a templar ever since the first game. In Assassin´s Creed III you´ll play as a templar for some time, but that´s not something you realized from the start and it´s also not for that long. Still it gave me a look on the other side of the curtain.


I think you can have the best objective view if you see the story on both sides and not just one side. Not that I dislike the Assassin side but I´ve always been curious about the templars, how things work there and if they´re truly that evil as the assassins like to believe. Seeing that sometimes assassins switch sides to the templars must mean that they have something interesting to offer. I don´t think a templar has ever switched sides to the assassins, unless that was a spy and of course was working for the templars the entire time. But I´m not really an expert on Assassin´s Creed lore, so I could be mistaken.


Somehow I doubt the new Assassin´s Creed game will be completely different, because in Assassin´s Creed III you played as a templar for some time but that templar was using assassin skills. I wonder if that will change, because I doubt every templar will be a trained assassin. I´d like to see something else, it doesn´t have to be completely different but maybe a few changes would be nice. I just hope it´s not going to be a templar story of how he or she switches sides and becomes an assassin. But I would welcome doubts, something that makes the templar question himself or herself and the choices he or she has made. For example a love story between a templar and an assassin can definately have a big influence on your choices and no matter how strong your belief in something is, love can easily make something simple very complicated!


Who or what the main character is doesn´t really matter to me, as long as the story is good then I´m probably not going to complain. Of course I welcome a character with whom I have something in common, for example behaviour or even a similar look for that matter. But I do hope you can customize your character a bit, that way you can make him or her look the way you want to and that should definately benefit with identifying yourself with this character. Anyway I´m excited about this new game and hopefully it will be good!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with.
