A taste of their own medicine!
There is a saying that you should fight fire with fire, which would mean in the world of games that you beat a cheater by cheating yourself. Maybe not that literal but it might be difficult to beat a cheater that is invulnerable, but if you´re also invulnerable then at least he can´t win just like that! But doesn´t that still ruin the game for others? I mean we can´t all cheat, so maybe instead of fighting fire with fire we should just report and ignore people that cheat.
Of course not everyone is a cheater, sometimes people just use cheap tricks to beat others. For example using overpowered weapons or camping. So fighting fire with fire would mean that you´d also have to use overpowered weapons and camp the fuck out of the match. I guess that could work, it´s not against the rules but I don´t think you´re going to make a lot of friends that way. But if you don´t care about such things then it´s something you could do. Even if it means that you´ll probably catch more dislikes than the new guy in school.
It does feel good sometimes to give people that use cheap tricks to win a taste of their own medicine, but I can´t help but feel dirty after that. I mean I don´t want to camp and I don´t like using cheap ass weapons that give me easy kills. So instead of playing by their rules, I prefer to beat them with my own rules. That gives me a good feeling when I succeed and some comfort when I lose, because sometimes it´s better to lose with honour than to win without honour.
Maybe I´m old fashioned, perhaps honour isn´t something of this time anymore. But I don´t think the rules have changed when it comes to challenging someone else, you stick to the rules and try to beat someone fair and square. Of course using a power weapon or camping isn´t against the rules, but it´s not a respected strategy and even if you win fair and square it will often get you a lot of hate. I´m not going to pretend that I´m ok with that, but I guess for some people it´s the only thing they can do to compete with other players. I just wish developers would make better multiplayer lobbies where people of the same skill will face eachother instead of mixing everyone up with eachother.
