Dragon Age Inquisition (first thoughts)
After seeing the Inquisitor trailer I must admit that I´m very excited about this game, I was already excited before but now after seeing the trailer I´m almost counting the days until it becomes available. As they mentioned in the trailer that will be on the 7th of October 2014. Which isn´t that far from now, I mean I´ve waited much longer on games and this doesn´t feel like it´s that long!
In the trailer you see a human looking character, which kind of gives me the idea that you´ll have to play as a human like you did in Dragon Age 2. I don´t see this as a problem but I´ve heard that a lot of people prefer to play as a different race, for example as a dwarf or elf. The combat system looks fast as it did in Dragon Age 2, I´m happy about that because I really loved the fight system in Dragon Age 2! The graphics look good and I´m actually suprised that Dragon Age Inquisition will also be available on the ´old´ generation consoles (Playstation 3 and Xbox 360), but that´s good news for everyone that´s holding on to their consoles.
I saw some familiar faces, for example I saw Varric from Dragon Age 2 and Morrigan from Dragon Age: Origins. Another character that appeared in the trailer is the Seeker from Dragon Age 2, this is the woman that´s talking with Varric during the game and how you figure out what happened. So Dragon Age 2 will play a big role on this game, something terrible has happened and it opened a rift that your character and companions will have to close. By some miracle your character survived an explosion and the Seeker sees you as a threat in that moment. But if that means you´ll have to fight her or if she joins you as a companion is unclear at this moment. But I did see at the ending of the trailer that you have a big group of character around you, which means you´ll probably get quite a lot of companions or people that side with you.
Somehow I do have the feeling that you´re playing as a new character, so you probably won´t play as the grey warden from Dragon Age: Origins or Hawke from Dragon Age 2. Looking at your armor you´re probably from the same group as the Seeker, but what your role is and who you are exactly is unknown so far to me. So eventhough this is a clear sequel to Dragon Age 2 I don´t think you´ll play as Hawke or if you´ll encounter Hawke, which makes me wonder why some of the companions of Hawke would follow you. Anyway it looks interesting and I´m definately excited about Dragon Age Inquisition!
