Looking back at.....Call of Duty Black Ops 2!

Why are you looking back on a game that is only a couple of years old? Well I like this game, I´ve played it a lot and to keep things in a CoD mood (because CoD Advanced Warfare is out, for a lot of people) I thought this would be an interesting game to talk about.


What is so special about Black Ops 2? I think a lot of people have a lot of reasons to like or dislike a game, for me it´s actually pretty simple when it comes to Black Ops 2 because I was actually quite succesful in the CoD game. But of course that´s not the only reason, I like the zombie mode and also the campaign is a lot of fun. A nice bonus song at the end with a funny clip and of course multiplayer that even let a rookie like me do well. Oh I didn´t destroy people but I had some nice killstreaks and just by playing as I like to play and that´s running around like a madman!


At first I had my doubts about this game, I really enjoyed playing Black Ops (that takes place in the past) and I was hoping that Black Ops 2 would be more of the same. Unfortunately it´s not, but guess what? It´s a pretty good game! The high tech gadgets and some of the weapons are actually pretty cool and make multiplayer a bit quicker and more exciting. Of course nothing like Advanced Warfare but to be honest nobody was expecting anything like that. The maps also look pretty good and they even brought some fan favourites from Black Ops 2 back (Nuke Town became Nuke Town 2025 and Firing Range became Studio). The game felt familiar and I really enjoyed playing multiplayer, it´s probably why I played it for so long and I even returned when CoD Ghosts was out, because to be honest Black Ops 2 multiplayer is more fun than CoD Ghosts multiplayer (which is my opinion, not really a fact).


So what will Black Ops 3 bring? That´s assuming that it will be called Black Ops 3 because I don´t know, there is no news about this game! I wonder if it will continue the story, for as far that´s possible, in the future or if they go back in time. The same counts for zombie mode, what will they do next because the Origins map of zombies in the latest dlc pack was amazing! I hope Treyarch makes an amazing game and I have faith in that, I won´t doubt them again like I did when I first heard about Black Ops 2. Sometimes you just need some faith, I´m certain that it will be pretty cool especially when I look at Advanced Warfare. It seems CoD is taking an interesting route and I want to follow it for a lot longer!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? There is nothing wrong about being serious, but I think there is a time and a place for everything.
