Gay relationships in Dragon Age: Inquisition?
If you´re not familiar with Bioware games then it might come to you as a surprise that there are gay relationships in some of their games, for example Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 had this option for you in the game. People made a big deal out of it then and now once again it´s a problem to some people that you could have a relationship with someone of the same gender as you. But not a lot of people seem to understand that this is optional, you don´t have to do this and even if you did then this doesn´t make you gay. Welcome into the 21th century where there are people with a different skin colour and different sexual orientation than you, you can leave your prejudice and stupidity in all the other centuries!
Why is it such a problem for some people that you could have a gay relationship in a game? To keep it civilized I´d say a lot of people consider it as wrong, mostly because they just look from their own point of view and that´s usually enough for some people to condemn something. Then there are people that bring religion along, eventhough it says in the bible you should love other people as much as yourself there is so much hate towards people that are different that it really makes me wonder if some religious people actually read the bible. There are also people that just hate to hate, everything that is different then what they are is wrong and stupid. With people like that you can´t reason, you can make them understand and it´s a complete waste to try to make them understand. A lot of parents are worried that if their kid plays games where you could have a gay relationship that this will turn their kid into being gay. Ridiculous of course because you don´t turn gay, you´re either born gay or you´re not! Which also takes away the bullshit that being gay is an illness, if that´s true then being stupid is also an illness and a lot more people seem to suffer from that!
But it´s a choice right? Exactly! You can choose to have a gay relationship in Dragon Age: Inquisition and also in the other games. Nobody forces you into anything, you can flirt with people of the same gender and that might lead to a relationship and/or sex. This doens´t happen within five minutes though, if you want to get to that point then that takes quite some conversations and time. You´ll have to put some effort into it to actually get to that point, so nobody gets a gay sex scene by accident! Let´s not forget that a lot of guys (maybe also some girls) like to play as a female character and then start a relationship with another female character, somehow this is acceptable but the moment two guys are interested in eachother then all hell breaks loose! Once again some stupid bullshit but that´s nothing new in this world, is it?!!!
I don´t care if they put gay relationships in games, if they put that in a game then that´s nice for people that are gay and if you´re not gay then it doesn´t have to affect you because you can just have a straight relationship (if you want to) or no relationship at all. As I mentioned before it´s your choice and you decide what happens! Some countries make a big deal out of it, they forbid the game and think they can ´protect´ their children from the ´evil´ that this game contains. Once again movies or games don´t turn people into being gay, also being friends with people that are gay doesn´t make you gay. You´re either born gay or you´re not, sure you could also be bisexual and who knows what else stands between being gay and straight but does it really matter? How about we just accept eachother the way we are and play games, we all have a good time and for once have a little bit of peace in the world. Oh wait that sounds probably more like the ending to Dragon Age: Origins...
