CoD Advanced Warfare, should you get the Day Zero edition?
Next Tuesday you can play CoD Advanced Warfare, but if you pre-order now you´ll get the Day Zero edition which gives you 24 hour early acces with double experience. This sounds cool and I think for a lot of die hard multiplayer fans this is probably how you want to start the game, to get fast on a high level and get the good stuff. But is this really a good thing or not?
I think a lot of people will get the Day Zero edition, which means that a lot of people can benefit from the double xp. But what does that mean? Half of the CoD community will be level 50 at the end of that day? I know that I don´t level up that quickly, even with double xp I doubt I´ll be reaching level 30. But for those that are the die hard multiplayer gamers, they´ll probably reach a high level and will benefit greatly of this boost and probably make things a bit more annoying for those who don´t level up that quickly or didn´t get the Day Zero edition. I hope that Sledgehammer will be able to keep the balance because it sucks when you constantly face people that are 20 or 30 levels higher than you and most likely have better gear. I know it´s competitive multiplayer but without some balance it´s not competition but just a slaughterhouse!
If you´re just like me then you prefer to first play the campaign, it makes you familiar with the controls and get an idea how everything works. It´s also a good way to get back into first person shooters if you´ve been playing other type of games. But now with the Day Zero edition it would be foolish not to jump straight into multiplayer, but that also means that you´re pretty much fucked if you´re not good at these games and you´ll have to adjust to the game. Once again the die hard multiplayer gamers will have a great day and those that don´t play these type of games a lot or first play the campaign to get comfortable with the game might have a bad day. That doesn´t mean that this is a bad idea, but I wonder who really benefits from this double xp and I doubt it´s going to be casual gamers.
So should you buy the Day Zero edition or not? Well that´s up to you, I mean who am I to tell you what you should buy or shouldn´t buy. I would warn you that you´ll encounter a lot of annoying people and fun might be difficult when you keep getting killed by people that kill you in a second or just camp most of the match. So maybe you prefer to avoid this and enter multiplayer later, I don´t blame you and I would almost do it myself but I must admit that I´m far too curious about multiplayer to delay that even longer! Besides if you get the game a day early with double xp in multiplayer then it only makes sense that you benefit from that, at least that seems logic to me. If you´re not into multiplayer then you can always check it out and see how it is, if things are too annoying or frustrating for you then you can always do something else. I doubt you´re going to be restricted to just playing multiplayer. I just hope you´re going to have a great time with whatever game you´re playing!
