Revan returns to Star Wars the Old Republic?!!!
I must admit that I was excited for a moment when I first heard the news, but then the rest came. Revan does return but as the leader of a cult that tries to destroy both the republic and the empire, sigh...
What happened? I remember when I first played Knights of the Old Republic, that was amazing and I really enjoyed the story and talking with the other characters in this game. It was my first experience with a Bioware game and after Knights of the Old Republic I kept an eye on them in case they made more fantastic game, I think Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins are good examples of that! But now we get this, after a lot of fans screaming for Revan they get a version of their favourite jedi/sith which they probably didn´t expected and probably don´t want. If you couldn´t play as Revan then you want him (or her, I guess some people prefer a female Revan) to be a member of your crew or at least someone you could talk with and hang out with. But things look grim from this point of view, because it could be that Revan might be the final boss in this new dlc.
I stopped playing the Old Republic about two months after launch, I didn´t enjoy playing it anymore and didn´t find the motivation to play through missions to level up. At that point a game is dead to me, the characters I made are lost to me and everything I did in the game has become a distant memory. It sounds a bit dramatic but that´s how it feels to me, but am I the only one that feels that way? Probably not, I don´t think that there are many players in the game that were there from the first day. But that´s ok, as long as people are having fun playing the game then who am I to say that they shouldn´t?
Will this dlc bring people back to the game? I don´t know, I think a lot of people that were disappointed not seeing Revan in the game might get some hope with this dlc but I bet people will be sceptic! Maybe this dlc will be awesome and Revan will be playing a more interesting role then what I talked about, but so far that´s just wishful thinking in my opinion. To me this feels like a desperate attempt to get players back into the Old Republic, but I doubt it will really work. I´m secretly still hoping for Knights of the Old Republic 3 and play once more as Revan, now that would be something I´m excited about!
