Scalebound, the game that keeps getting delayed?

When I look at Scalebound I see a bit of Devel May Cry and Baynetta in this game, it's fast hack and slash with room for combos and interesting other moves. But that wouldn't be right to just say it's a rip off, because Scalebound also gives you dragons! The big question is, when can we finally play this game?!!! Scalebound is worth waiting for? I hope so, I really really hope so! Because people have been waiting for this game for quite some time and with some delays it makes people a bit less happy (to put it mildly) so hopefully the game will finally launch in 2017. The game looks cool though, I mean flying around on a dragon and some fast action that puts you up against some giant monsters. Yeah that looks cool to me, but the question remains how good is this game really going to be and is it worth waiting for. It's difficult to say but I think the game looks good and so it's worth giving it a shot at least, because you would rather have a good game that gets...

For Honor, a fancy Dynasty Warriors game?

The first moment I saw For Honor I couldn't help but get the idea that I was looking at the latest Dynasty Warriors game. In case you don't know what Dynasty Warriors is then it comes down to a lot of NPCs on screen that move around and I guess attack eachother but most actions will have to come from the player and those actions are mostly hack and slash. For Honor is more than hack and slash though, it might even make people that don't enjoy hack and slash interested in this game. This is not a hack and slash game? Well it is, but at the same time it offers more than just pressing a button for attacking. For example you have multiple stances and depending on your stance it will determine if you can hit your enemy. So if you face an enemy with a high guard, you pick a low stance and you can hit him. If you would pick a high stance then that won't work and the enemy will deflect your attacks. This gives the game a bit more than just your average hack and slash advent...

Battlefield 1 is the best fps of 2016?

I have to admit that I've never been into Battlefield games, they look fun but the big maps and the random character you play as seems a bit detached for me. I like the small maps with characters I can customize, which often brings you to CoD. But this year Battlefield definitely has the more interesting game, because Battlefield takes you to World War I and the game looks beautiful! So this year I'm thinking about trying my luck with Battlefield because the new CoD game doesn't really interest me at this point. What's so interesting about WW I? First of all it's a war that hasn't been seen in a lot of games, because most games either go for World War II or some modern day war situation. There are also future war games but I think a lot of people are done with that, at least for now. So Battlefield has gold in their hands with World War I and I think a lot of people are excited about it! The game also looks amazing! I mean fighting on a blimp, landing your p...

Injustice 2, do we really need this?

I'll be honest with you, I never played the full game of Injustice (I played the demo and it didn't really motivate me to buy the game for the full price) and hearing that there will be a sequel really surprises me. Not that the game was absolutely crap, but it seems a bit weird to make a game with super heroes and then just let them fight eachother and then have some mediocre story in the middle. Maybe some people love that, there are other people who would rather play a game like Batman Arkham City and have fun with that! What is Injustice 2? Just like in the the first game it's about heroes and villains fighting eachother. But that's too easy to just call it a fighting game, eventhough in the core that's exactly what Injustice 2 is. The story in the first game was about what happens when heroes become more like villains, because Superman killed Lois Lane (the Joker hit him with some hallucigenic gas that made him see things differently) and after that he comp...

Sinful Sunday: Trying to be nice?

Whenever I play games online with other people, mostly with random strangers, then I try to be nice. At least up to a certain point. I won't shoot them on sight and I won't try to annoy them, but if someone is making your life miserable then it's very tempting to treat them the same way. It's easy to give in to frustration and be an annoying douchebag but it's really the trick to keep your head cool and let it slide. Forgive and forget? This is of course easier said  than done. For example if you play Rainbow Six Siege and some asshole on your team kills you and you spend four minutes waiting until the round has ended then you can imagine that you feel a certain need to get revenge. Of course it's not always on purpose that someone kills you, but there are definitely douchebags out there that do it on purpose and someone that shoots you in the first ten seconds usually does that on purpose. It also becomes quite clear when they teabag you afterwards. Maybe t...

Ghost Recon Wildlands, bigger is better?

When you look at tactical shooters you're usually confined to a certain area, so imagine having an open world where you can move around and do whatever you like. Ok you still have missions to complete but the freedom you experience is going to be fun and you can share this fun with your friends as they can join you in your missions. I think it's safe to say that this game is going to be a lot of fun to play! What is Ghost Recon Wildlands? In Ghost Recon Wildlands you play as one of four ghosts (name of soldiers that are trained for special ops) and together you have to fight the Cartel. This happens in missions in a large area and you can select which mission you want to do first. This gives you a lot of freedom and this way you can make your own path through the game. You can play solo with three bots or you can have up to three friends with you in a match. Whatever you prefer it should work! Not only can you run and jump around on the map, you also have acces to several v...

Youtube adventures part 24

No matter how good or helpful your videos are there will always be people that will dislike your video, you can't avoid that and if you can't take that then I would suggest not posting videos on youtube! But the question isn't if people will dislike your video, it's more the question: Why do people dislike my video? The sad thing is that there isn't always a good reason why someone dislikes your video, some people are just in a bad mood and will dislike anything that doesn't make them feel better and then there are people that will automaticly dislike a video because that's what they do. It's impossible to avoid these people and to be honest who cares what these people think. Because if you make videos just for the likes then you're doing something wrong! Sometimes it does seem unfair though, for example if you make a helpful video and people will still dislike it. I always wonder why they do this, because the video isn't offensive or lame ...

Fallout 4 dlc, a bit of a disappointment?

After Automatron, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor we now get three more dlc packages for Fallout 4. The first new dlc pack is Contraptions Workshop (now available), the second new pack is Vault-Tec Workshop and the last one is Nuka World. Once again it's a lot of building dlc and I have to admit that I'm not so happy with that, because as much fun building can be it's kind of lame that at least half of the dlc are these small dlc building packs that don't contribute much to the story at all. I understand  that it can't all be like Far Harbor but just building new things in dlc seems a bit of a waste to me. Fallout 4 dlc is bad? I'm not saying that! But I do think it's a bit of a disappointment, it's just mostly building new things and not getting new areas or meeting new people. Sure Far Harbor and later in Nuka World you get big new areas but imagine fun dlc packs that would support certain quests in the story or side quests from the game. For exa...

Watch Dogs 2, the sequel no one wanted?

The first Watch Dogs game wasn't that popular, sure there was a lot of hype at first but once the game came out not everyone was so happy with it. But there's a sequel now and this makes a lot of people wonder if this is something we really want. I still think you should give a game a chance, of course it's easy to judge before actually playing the game, but let's see if Watch Dogs 2 is going to be as good as I hope it will be. New main character? Not everyone was a big fan of Aiden Pearce, the main character from Watch Dogs, so we get a new main character in Watch Dogs 2 Marcus Holloway. Marcus is a member of Dedsec, the hacker organization that fights against the government taking full control over everything., and will do some illegal things to stop certain people from controlling the people in San Francisco. I actually like that you get a new character and that it takes place in another city, that keeps things fresh and I think the story was done with Aiden anyw...

Dishonored 2, now with 2 playable characters!

Everyone that loves Dishonored is going to love Dishonored 2. Why? Because now you can choose between two playable characters, Corvo and Emily, and Corvo can speak (he probably could speak in the first game but he just never says something). So how can you not be excited about this game? I guess if you don't like stealth games and like to kick a door in and shoot everything with an overpowered gun. But if you give Dishonored 2 a chance then you might actually like it! Corvo or Emily? After a short intro playing as Emily you have to choose your character, this choice will be very important because if you pick Corvo you will play Corvo for the rest of the game and the same counts for Emily. So you should pick wisely! The character aren't really that different, I mean it's not like Emily uses stealth and Corvo goes for the loud action. They both use stealth and pretty much the same weapons. What makes them different is how they react to certain events in the game and their...

ReCore, an unexpected surprise?

I have to admit that when I first heard about ReCore I wasn't really interested, I guess I didn't give the game a chance to show what it had in store and so I kind of ignored it but with the latest trailer I'm totally on board with this game! I mean wow it looks cool and interesting, a bit of platforming, some puzzles and of course some fighting. I think this might be a very interesting game! What is ReCore? To explain that let me first say that the developers from this game come from the creators of Mega Man and people that worked on Metroid Prime, so combine that and you get an impressive game called ReCore. But that still hasn't answered the question, what is ReCore? Well ReCore is a game where you play as a woman called Joule and you're one of the last humans on the planet, you want to escape but that's easier said than done. Machines are hunting you down so she has to come up with a way to survive, so she makes robotic allies that help her in fights and...

Sinful Sunday: Spoilers!

The most hated people online aren't the trolls, maybe not even people that try to act tough and pretend to be someone they're not. No the most hated people are the ones that spoil things for others, which means that anyone that hasn't seen a popular movie or played a popular game should be careful because some people just love to spoil things! Why do people spoil things for others? This might come as a surprise but some people don't even realize that, I guess they just really want to talk about something they saw and don't Always realize that other people might not have seen that. I don't think everyone cares that much about spoilers but for some people it can ruin everything. For example there's a movie and someone dies in that movie, if someone spoils that for you then that movie is ruined for you. The same counts for games, if you know that something will happen then it takes away fun out of the game. Because part of the fun of playing a game is not k...

Vampyr, finally a good vampire game?

When you think of it there aren't a lot of vampire games, games where you play as a vampire, and the vampire games that are there aren't really that great. At least most recent games, because if you dive deeper into the world of games and go further back you do find some good vampire games. For example Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines which is still my favourite vampire game. But now Dontnod Entertainment (yes you know those people that made the beautiful game Life is strange) are making Vampyr, a game where you play as a vampire that has recently been turned into a vampire. What kind of vampire are you? Well that's the good part, you get to decide what kind of vampire you want to be. So if you want to become a killing machine you can concentrate on the instinct skill tree and become a good fighter and excellent killer. But if you prefer to use stealth then you can use the shadow skill tree and sneak around and kill people without anyone realizing that you just killed...

Resident Evil 7 is Silent Hills?

After seeing the Resident Evil 7 trailer and playing the demo you can't help but get a strong Silent Hills feeling, not just because you're playing in first person mode but also the environment and the feeling you get while playing it. Is that a good thing? Well I think it is, eventhough I don't see how this has anything to do with Resident Evil and the previous games in the series. Resident Evil has reinvented itself? For several years fans have been complaining that Resident Evil games don't feel like survival horror games anymore. So these people should be happy that Resident Evil 7 grabs you by the balls and takes you back into survival horror, but at what cost? In the playable teaser (the demo is now playable on your Playstation 4) you play as some guy who goes into a house with some other guys, people disappear and things go horribly wrong. This seems like a standard horror scenario but what does this have to do with Resident Evil? Apparently a lot because the...

Xbox One Slim and Project Scorpio

Microsoft didn't have one new console to show you, there are actually two new consoles coming! This is quite odd and I must admit that I didn't expect that at all, but then again surprises are nice. At least sometimes... What is the Xbox One Slim? The Xbox One Slim (aka Xbox One S) is a much smaller version of the Xbox One that runs games a bit smoother, if you wonder how much smaller it is then it's almost half the size of the Xbox One (it's 40% smaller) and yet it works even better? That seems like a good deal, right? Well that depends, because there's another console coming and this one is a lot more powerful! What is project Scorpio? Project Scorpio is the name of the development process of the new Xbox One console, as weird as this seems the Xbox One already gets an upgrade and this console is no joke! Project Scorpio (I name the new console this to keep it simple) is four times more powerful than the Xbox One, which means that it's capable of some ...

State of Decay 2, finally you can play with other people?

I really like the first State of Decay game, so I'm happy to see a sequel. But the question is, what does this game have to offer? Well that's a bit difficult to say since the trailer was just a cinematic of people killing zombies with a car and responding to people in trouble. But I think there is something I can say about this game and hopefully that gives you an idea what you can expect in this game. You can play with other people? In the first State of Decay game it was just you, a lot of people asked for co-op gameplay but it just didn't happen. But now in State of Decay 2 it seems like the people get what they want. In the trailer you see a group of people killing zombies and responding to other people that are in trouble, so I think it might be that you just team up with other players and can kill zombies together or there is some sort of open world where people can meet up and work together or maybe even against eachother. It's probably just going to be you ...

Mass Effect Andromeda. The good, the bad and the ugly!

In the latest trailer of Mass Effect Andromeda we finally see some more of the game, not something that really screams out what we'll get but at least you can get an impression of the game. For example you see some of the characters, the ship, monsters and new worlds you can discover. So I think that should make you want to see more of the game and probably makes you wish you already have the game! The good. The graphics look amazing, not just the characters but also the worlds with weather effects. This gives you the idea that you're in a world that is alive and it makes you alive in that world. The character expressions are quite detailed and it should really make you feel more for the characters. Because when someone is surprised you can see it, if someone is happy then it's quite easily spotted on a face and fear is also an expression you can notice. One of the characters says something in the trailer and I think that this is the female version of the main characte...

Titanfall 2, bigger and better?

After Titanfall it doesn't surprise me that there's a sequel because eventhough the game didn't interest me for long it's an explosive and chaotic multiplayer that's fun to play if you like big mechs and running and gunning. But what does Titanfall 2 bring? Will it be more of the same or do we finally get a decent game? There's a single player campaign? Yes and you get a special trailer to prove it, now I'm not saying that I was completely stunned by the trailer but it looks interesting. One of the things that really sticks out in this campaign is that your mech has a voice of its own and can communicate with you. In one of the lines I heard the mech tell the pilot to trust him...eh it. So if this will be a bonding process between pilot and mech or just a crazy explosive adventure remains to be seen but it sure looks like fun. How this all works in a single player campaign is still a bit of a mystery to me but as long as it's fun to play then I'm...

Sinful Sunday: I hate friend suggestions!

Whenever I go online on Xboxlive I get friend suggestions, often these are people with already hundreds of friends and they publish some popular videos. When I look at all the friend suggestions then I notice that most of these people make popular videos. I personally hate this because these aren't people I'm interested of being friends with, because they probably want to get as many likes on their videos and have as many friends in their friends list. I don't really see why I would want to be friends with someone like that. Xboxlive friend suggestions are stupid? Most of them are stupid, because you don't get in touch with people that have about the same amount of friends like you and play a lot of games you also play. No you get people that have some popular videos and so they are highlighted for that instead of people you would actually like and want to play games with. I don't hate these people, but I just hate the fact that it's always the same people t...

Characters in games get too easily and quickly nerfed?

In most first person shooters there is usually one character and/or weapon that is more powerful then the others. This quickly makes people upset because people will nine out of ten times play as that character. Just look at the sawed off shotgun in Max Payne 3 and Bastion in Overwatch. These are some examples of characters and weapons  that are ridiculously strong and will melt most players in seconds. This wouldn't be a problem if people wouldn't feel a need to constantly play as these characters or use these weapons but unfortunately a lot of sad sacks of shit can only play as these characters or use overpowered weapons. So people are to blame and not the characters and weapons in the game? Well it's a bit of both, because if the characters and weapons that are overpowered wouldn't be in the game then these sad sacks of shit couldn't use them and would have to actually learn to play the game as everyone else. But it's really the people that make this a pr...

Youtube adventures part 23

When you put your videos on youtube then you can expect people to comment on them, some of them like your videos and others hate them. For whatever reason that might be. If people like them you want to make more of those videos and if people don't like them then you want to see if you can do something different, but the trick is not to be too much affected by the comments. Stay true to the way you want to make videos and what kind of videos you want to make. But how do your viewers look at that? Well you should keep one thing in mind. You decide what kind of videos you make and put on youtube! I know that some people really want to give the viewers what they want, but if this comes at the cost of you making the videos you want to make then you're doing something wrong. The joy and excitement you have in making videos and then sharing them with others will be tainted if you just make videos to please your viewers. It might seem harsh but if people don't like your videos ...

Three things Overwatch could really use!

If you've played Overwatch then you know how frustrating the game can be sometimes, what's worse is that half of the time this could've been avoided if the game was just a bit different. I talk about three things I think that need to be improved or that could improve the game. But this is just my opinion, I'm not saying  that these are facts or that this would make the game perfect. 1. No duplicate heroes on one team. If  there's one thing I hate it's a bunch of losers that need to double up, triple up and sometimes more than half of their team needs to be the same character. Wether that's Bastion, Torbjörn or Junkrat I don't care, it's sad when people have to rely on these characters and it only gets worse when they have more than one of these easy characters. Of course there's nothing wrong with playing as certain characters, eventhough some are seen as incredibly sad and pathetic (for example Torbjörn in a capture match or Bastion in an es...

Agents of Mayhem is Saints Row 5?

After seeing the announcement trailer for Agents of Mayhem I couldn't shake the feeling of looking at the future of Saints Row, not that the trailer really revealed any of the Saints (for as far as I know) but it did drop certain hints that it takes place in the same universe as the Saints Row universe and it's from the same developer. A coincidence? I don't think so! How is Agents of Mayhem Saints Row 5? Ok I have to admit that looking at the trailer didn't really give clear signs that this is Saints Row 5, I mean Johnny Gat would've been a good hint if not a big neon sign that says hell yes! But there's talk about Ultor, if you remember correctly this is an evil corporation that was an enemy in Saints Row 2 and became part of the Saints in Saints Row the Third and also in Saints Row IV. So seeing that name pop up made me wonder if this takes place in the near future, because not only does the name Ultor pop up you also see the logo of the Saints at the end...

Achievements make your (gaming) life better?

Have you ever had a horrible day? Well I know that I have, wether it was a day at school, work or just a bad day at home. It seems like nothing can go right and things go from bad to worse. Playing games can be a nice distraction or a good way to unwind after a bad day at school or work but what if bad things keep happening there? Are you ready to throw your computer or console out the window? Don't do that! What really helps me feel better is getting achievements, especially the more difficult ones or the ones that require pure luck to get. It might seems silly but getting an achievement means that things aren't so bad and you've got proof that it's not so bad. Achievements make you feel better? Yes, trophies make you feel better as well. But what makes getting achievements/trophies so special? Well it's that little positive thing that happens in your life that says, hey you did good there! Ok some achievements are super easy and I can't imagine that this m...

People don't want to work together in a team?

There are a lot of games where you have to work together as a team, of course you can play the lone wolf but you have the most succes if you work together as a team. Unfortunately a lot of people don't want to work together with other people, they also don't want to communicate or help team mates which often leads to defeat. It really surprises me why some people want to buy a game that involves teams and often requires teamwork to win but they can't be bothered to work as a team. Weird... People hate other people online? That would explain a lot but I don't think that this is the reason, I think most people just don't want to talk with random strangers and probably go their own way. Why these people don't want to play deathmatch matches aka free for all is beyond me, because that's where you can shine much more as a lone wolf. I guess some people like the idea of being part of a team or at least have other people to assist them in some way but don't...

Sinful Sunday: Angry at yourself or others?

I think we all have moments that we're mad, but why are we mad and is it always the fault of others? It's easy to say that it's the fault of others because why would you take the blame when it's so much easier to blame others. What's really surprising is that some people are actually in disbelief, they can't imagine that they are actually mad at themselves and will just spurt out a whole load of insults and words that make absolutely no sense at all. So the question is, are you mad at yourself or others? It's not my fault? Getting angry isn't something you're proud of, I think a lot of people are ashamed of their angry outbursts. So if you make it so that you get angry because of someone else then that means it's not your fault you're angry, it's the fault of someone else and so your outburst is justified. At least that's what you tell others and yourself, but is that really true? Of course there are assholes that try to make you ...

Loot boxes, fun for collectors or dangerously addictive?

These days it's more and more common, you don't really earn new outfits or other items in a game but you can get random items with loot boxes (requisition packs in Halo 5). It's a way of getting a chance to get some amazing items or if you're unlucky you keep getting the same stuff. I think a lot of people like loot boxes but I don't think everyone realizes how this can be a dangerous thing in a game. Loot boxes are dangerous? Of course not, that would be ridiculous! But the urge to get new things and certain items might make you want to spend real money (a lot of games with the loot box system allow you to spend real money on more loot boxes) if the way of earning them in the game goes too slow for you. The problem with this is that some people easily spend hundreds of Dollars/Euros on lootboxes just to get items in a game. I can understand that you really want to unlock something cool for your character in the game but you should really know when to quit, beca...

Youtube adventures part 22

There are a lot of different videos on youtube, most of them are of decent quality and I think most people watching videos on youtube expect good quality videos. Some demand the best of the best or will give a dislike, for some youtubers this is just not always possible. Because not everyone has a capture card and their recording is sometimes done with a simple camera, that doesn't make it necessarily a bad quality video but I can imagine that not everyone will like videos of a lower quality. But the question is... Does video quality matter? A simple answer is yes, because if the video looks like crap then who would want to watch that? But you should realize that just because the video doesn't look as pretty as other videos that this means that it's automaticly a bad video. I've seen good videos, funny videos and even helpful videos (achievement/trophy guides) recorded with a simple camera and  the quality wasn't really great, but the content is good and I think...

All Points Bulletin (APB) Reloaded on Xbox One and Playstation 4?

A couple of days ago I suddenly saw APB: Reloaded in the Xbox One store, unfortunately it wasn't available (most likely because only some people were allowed to test the game) but it did make me more curious about this game. I actually bought the game for my PC several years ago but my PC wasn't good enough to run it, so hopefully now I and other people that are interested can get a chance to play this game. What is APB: Reloaded? The description would be a free to play action MMO, which pretty much means that you will meet a lot of other people in the game world and you can do missions together or play against other players. This all takes place in San Paro, in this city you pick either the side of the enforcers (some kind of vigilante police) or the criminals and as the criminals you try to cause as much chaos and destruction as possible. During missions you will often be up against other players in sometimes huge battles where it's 50 against 50 (the maximum amount),...

Multiplayer achievements/trophies are the worst!

I like achievements, they're a great motivator to try new modes or try new things in a game. Sometimes they can convince you to try and play a game on a high difficulty and sometimes you do things like trying to get a tripple headshot. I wouldn't do these things on my own, but achievements often convince me to try it and I feel accomplished when I succeed. These are often single player achievements/trophies, unfortunately there are also multiplayer achievements/trophies and  these are often not that much fun to get... What's wrong with multiplayer achievements/trophies? The biggest problem with multiplayer achievements/trophies is that it's not all up to me, it also depends on what other players do and that kind of puts the fate of me getting a certain achievement/trophy in the hands of other people and I don't like that! In single player I know what I need to do how to get achievements/trophies and the game will at least put one part in the entire game where yo...
