The new Zelda, everything you always wanted?

Looking at the new trailer of Zelda makes me wonder what to expect, because it looks beautiful but then again there is that look that some people hate from the Windwaker. Still that doesn´t mean that this will be bad, I actually enjoyed playing Windwaker and I was also sceptical about that game when I first saw it. But sometimes things turn out great, so I have faith in this new Zelda game!


An open world in Hyrule? As much as I love the ocarina of time I know that the game had limited amounts of freedom compared to some of the free roaming games you have these days. Just look at a game like Skyrim, that´s amazing and to have that for a Zelda game is fantastic! So when they showed how big Hyrule is and how far you can explore I was very happy about that. Finally you can go your own way and not be forced to take the one and only path that you have to take if you want to make it through the game. Which means that people can have different experiences with this game. Sounds good to me!


Not everyone is happy about the game? No the look of the game gets some complaints and I guess it´s the same people that hated the Windwaker, I see where they´re coming from and I probably would´ve been the same if I hadn´t played the Windwaker. It takes some getting used to and yes I do prefer the ocarina of time and twilight princess look. But that doesn´t automaticly make this new Zelda game bad! Also there are people that don´t like the look of Link, something I don´t see as a problem. Remember that in the Windwaker you would walk around in casual clothes before you start in the hero clothes, so maybe this is the same idea? And the hair of Link shouldn´t be a problem, I mean if that really bothers you then I´d say you have too much spare time on your hands. I welcome new ideas and new looks, at least if they´re done right and this new style looks good to me!


So now you have a good excuse to buy a Wii U? If you already planned to buy one then this might just convince you even more but to buy a console just for one game might be a bit extreme. It really depends what Nintendo will bring out next, I´d love to see more cool games like this come out and then I´ll definately be going back through memory lane and be a Nintendo gamer again. I think Nintendo is doing a good job here and I hope they keep it up, more cool games like this new Zelda game and the Wii U is back in the race for best console!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers?
