A life without games?
Have you ever wondered how your life would be if you never played games, if you never heard about video games and if they didn´t even exist? I think that would change things a lot for some people, especially if it´s your favourite hobby and if you spend a lot of time gaming. But if video games never existed then how would you miss them?
I started playing video games when I was nine and got my first console when I was ten, which wasn´t really that early in my life but in that time not many people played video games anyway. I started to spend more time playing games then playing outside with friends, something that wasn´t the smartest thing to do because I lost contact with some of my friends. I stopped playing football (soccer for Americans) and I also spend way too much money on games instead of other toys. But if someone would ask me if I regret anything then I´d say that I don´t regret anything about that, because I love playing games and maybe my life wouldn´t be better without video games but I do know that it would probably also be a bit more boring.
Games are a waste of money? It´s true, I spend a lot of money on games and I´ll keep doing that for quite a long time. When I think of all the money I would´ve had if I hadn´t spend it on games then I´d probably be rich, but then again I´d probably spend it on other things. Once again I don´t regret spending my money on video games, they´re fun and I like to have fun. So to me that´s money well spend! Also if you´re upgrading to a new console then you can always sell your old games and console, which gives you some money back and then you can spend that on new games. But you can also just sell your old games and buy new games with that money, of course you never get as much money back as you spend on those games but at least it´s better to get some than none!
It might seem like games have ruined my life but actually they haven´t, I met some nice people both online and offline with whom I talk about games and play games with. I have a lot of fun when I play games and even when I´m not having fun then at least I´m busy with something, it beats sitting still and doing nothing! Now I make videos about my game experience and write about it in this blog, so yes games have definately left a mark on me and I´m glad that they´re a part of my life. I don´t know how my life would´ve looked without games but does it really matter? This is my life now and I like it!
