Gamers make or break a game?
With the E3 it´s clear that there are a lot of ´experts´ running around giving you the latest news about games and all that, then there are journalists gathering information and just fans that want to sniff up some sweat and desperation...and probably play some of the new games. But what about us? The gamers that spend our hard earned money on these games, where are we? That´s right we often sit at home and can´t go to the events that we probably want to go. Well maybe some of your are lucky enough to go there but for a lot it´s too expensive or too far away.
Games are for gamers, right? I´d say yes, but when I look at certain events I´m not so sure anymore. It´s a bit circus with a lot of things going on but where is the let the gamers play games shit going on? I guess I´m a bit bitter about not being able to go to such events myself because I live in the middle of nowhere, but it would be nice if there would be more events and those events would then be more for gamers instead of people that just talk about games. Because without gamers there wouldn´t be a game industry!
Gamers are just a cog in the machine that is called the game idustry? Sometimes it certainly feels that way, but I guess whatever gets me new games works well for me. That doesn´t mean that it´s great how people that go for their job to certain events and talk about it but sometimes don´t really have any real interest in (certain) games. Some people even seem to be bored to be there and fuck around half of the time instead of actually doing their job. Does that make you want to strangle them? No? Oh so it´s just me then. Anyway it sucks that it seems douchebags always seem to find their way to such places and take it for granted while other people would love to go and can´t. It´s rough but I guess that´s how this world works...
When we finally get to play a game, which is often much later than these events, then I get the feeling that some gamers take revenge by talking shit about a game. Often without any good reason, maybe they do it out of spite or perhaps they just want to annoy other people that do like the game. I just wish game events would be more for gamers and better spread all over the world so gamers all over the world can go there, because without gamers there isn´t a game industry! So maybe give some love to the gamers for once?
