I love/hate games!

Do you sometimes feel like you have a love/hate relationship with games? No? Well maybe I´m the only one, but I guess I´m a bit of a weird guy. The thing with games is that some can be a lot of fun to play while others can be very frustrating to play. Also when things go well it´s all good, but when things go bad then even a fun game can make you angry. I guess it also depends on who you are, I mean some people don´t get upset as quickly as others but it´s easy to lose your temper when you feel like a game screws you over!


What is a love/hate relationship with games? It´s how I call my life as a gamer, how much I enjoy playing some games and how much I hate playing others. Even fun games can be frustrating and bad games can have moments of fun, it´s weird but that´s how it goes. Which is why I prefer not to hate games, usually just certain things in a game that I don´t like. For example I like GTA V, I like the single player and the story. But I´m not a fan of GTA Online, I´ve had too many problems with that to really enjoy it and this has made me quite negative about GTA Online. But this is my opinion, I don´t call that a fact.


Of course there are people that hate on everything and eventually play that anyway, usually it´s some sad attempt to provoke others online or to just be noticed. Either way it´s something that you can ignore, who cares what others think! Play games because you want to and not because what others say or think. That´s why the relationship you have with games is a personal one and it´s something that you could consider as something private. Which means that others have nothing to say about it!


Is it possible to just love or hate games? Of course, we all have our own way of dealing with things and I bet that there are a lot of people that love games and then there are also people that just hate games. It´s doesn´t have to be both! For me it´s just that frustration leads to a bad experience in a game, which can be a part in the game that is annoying or an achievement that is almost impossible to get. To me that´s frustrating and it can make me hate a game, but let´s not forget that these are only feelings in the heat of the moment. A week later I might love the game again, especially when I´m beyond that annoying point in the game or when I have the achievement. Maybe you think that´s weird and that´s ok, if everything in your life would be normal then that would be boring!

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers? There is nothing wrong about being serious, but I think there is a time and a place for everything.
