Gears of War 4 is good?

A lot of Gears of War fans didn't like Gears of War Judgement and I'm actually surprised that there is a Gears of War 4 coming after that game. Personally I enjoyed playing Gears of War Judgement but I think I'm one of the few when it comes to that opinion. So what can you expect from Gears of War 4? Well let's take a closer look...


Where's Marcus?


I think everyone that saw the six minute gameplay video of E3 were wondering where Marcus is, the main character from the first three Gears of War games. Well I'm getting the idea that this game is also going to be Marcus free, as in he doesn't show up and isn't a playable character. Of course it's early to say for certain because you just see two character investigating something in the video. But their look makes me think that this takes place before Gears of War 3, because in Gears of War 3 all the gears look a bit scruffy and walk around without a shirt or some raggy bit hanging around their torso.


So this could be a prequel?


Well I don't know about that, Gears of War Judgement tried that approach and it wasn't that popular so I don't know for certain if this is a prequel, it's also possible that this game takes place between the first and the second Gears of War game. When I look at the outfits of the characters I get a strong feeling that it takes place before Gears of War 3, but then again maybe this is just an entirely different story with all new characters and maybe has no connection at all with the other Gears games. It's just to early to say and right now it feels like speculation to say that it is this or that.


Does it look good?


Well I can't speak for you, you should really check the video yourself, but I think the game looks interesting. Some say that Gears of War is being milked dry but as long as they can make interesting games then I'm interested in playing them. It's easy to judge a game you don't know anything about, all we saw was just six minutes of gameplay and that's it. The game is going to be so much more than what you just saw. But I definitely got a darker and more creepy vibe from this video, sure when action starts it's kick ass time but before that I got the strong feeling of when you investigate that factory with the black explosive screamer enemies in the first Gears of War game. I love that mission and I hope there will be more of that. Right now I'm curious about this game, but if it's going to be a good game remains to be seen.

Button bashing

It seems that more and more games want you to smash on the buttons of the controller, which seems like fun but knowing that this weak piece of plastic can´t handle much it´s not the smartest way to handle your controller. In the good old arcade days I could smash on buttons, ok nothing too crazy but at least those machines had a lot more resilience than these weak controllers we have now. You have to pay a small fortune for one of them and they fall apart with the slightest bit of force you use. After smashing a couple of controllers out of frustration I learned to be careful with them, but when games force you to be an agressive button basher it doesn´t really help. Button bashing is nothing new but I do seem to see it in more and more games, even games that could easily do without this abusive way of treating your controller. Movie Monday: Mr & Mrs Smith

There are movie that might not look good at first, when you hear about it, but once you see the movie then you know that it's a fantastic movie. What really made Mr & Mrs Smith so good was the acting of the two main stars in the movie, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They had so much fun making this movie that it's an absolute joy to watch the movie. Which is good news for people that are looking for a fun movie to watch! Married to a spy? The story of Mr & Mrs Smith is pretty simple, a man is a spy and marries to a woman not knowing that she's a spy too. Apparently both of them are unaware of eachothers activities until their paths cross in their spy life, which leads to a lot of fighting and explosions. It's really not the action that makes this movie so much fun to watch but it's the humour. Sinful Sunday: Why are you so serious?

When I play a game I don't want to be serious, I just want to have fun and relax. Honestly real life is serious enough and I don't need that in games. Who cares who wins or who loses, just have fun and that already makes it great! Unfortunately there are gamers that take certain games way too serious, so serious that they literally forget to have fun which is quite frustrating to deal with. These kind of players are so serious that they probably left the fun behind when they started the game. Sigh... Serious gamers are lame gamers?
