Batgirl dlc, worth checking out?
You've probably heard people talk about the high price of the season pass for Batman Arkham Knight, so you're probably wondering if it's worth checking out. Well I think it is, sure it's a bit pricey but you do get some nice content and hopefully you have more fun with a good game. The first piece of dlc you get with the season pass is the Batgirl dlc where you play as Batgirl and you have to save her father Gordon.
Batgirl is cool?
Absolutely, she has some cool moves that are a bit different then the moves you see Batman use and yet they're just as effective. What's also cool is that Batgirl has some nice hacking skills she can use to take multiple enemies down in quick succession. You even get yourself an achievement or trophy if you can take out four in one such moment. In a way a lot of things that light up orange are things you hack or at least interact with. Sure some people make the Watchdogs joke but seriously it's a fun trick and doesn't have anything to do with Watchdogs when you look at the stealth and action part of it.
You're not alone?
That's right, Robin is there with you and you can have some nice team moments where you fight together against a group of enemies. You can also switch to Robin in these moments if you want to play as Robin. It's also cool when you to a team up combo move, something that leads up to some amazing teamwork later in the dlc (no spoilers!). Batman and Alfred aren't in this dlc and that's ok, because Batgirl and Robin make a good team and they work well together. I'm also glad that the batmobile isn't in this dlc, so it's just you and your tricks against enemies just the way you remember it in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.
What makes this dlc so much fun?
First of all it's nice that you can play as someone else than Batman, Batgirl is a cool character with some interesting moves and tricks that are a bit different then you're used to. But it's familiar enough to kick ass and save the day. For dlc you get several things to do, I know some people hate the dlc because they say it's so small and yet you get new things to do for several hours. Plus when you beat the story you can hang around in the amusement park as Batgirl for as long as you want, unlike the Harley Quinn dlc where you get booted out of the dlc back to the main menu. So if you want to look for collectibles, solve the hidden secret in the amusement park or just beat up some criminals it's all possible even after you beat the story. What I also like about this dlc is the vibe I get from it, because Joker is there and it's like just another day as a crime fighter trying to stop evil and save the day. I like that feeling and this dlc definitely gives you fun playing as Batgirl and stopping a madman from killing innocent people. Also there's no batmobile, that's definitely a bonus for me!
