You know you´re a teamplayer when...
What´s the opposite of a lone wolf? That´s right, a teamplayer! In the world of campaign co-op and (online) team based multiplayer these people are the type of people you want in your team, because they help you and do their best to help win a battle against another team. A teamplayer isn´t always the star of the team, sometimes they offer more support in the form of healing and defending an area. Of course one teamplayer isn´t the other, so don´t be suprised if some of them are a bit less helpful than others. But I do think that people that consider themselves teamplayers and actually help out whenever they can are quite rare, because being a teamplayer also requires you to be a bit social. Warning people if an enemy is sneaking up on someone or give call outs whenever they spot someone. A lone wolf would most likely be silent and try to deal with it himself or herself, but a teamplayer will alert others and then try to take the enemy out while working with others. It´s actually a nice change from always doing things on your own!
How do you recognize a teamplayer?
* A teamplayer works well with others, he´s not looking for fights or trying to annoy others.
* Especially in team based games a teamplayer will often be social, giving warnings and call outs.
* A lot of teamplayers will stick around other players, watching their back or assist them in a fight.
* A teamplayers wants to work with others, not against them and is often friendly to others.
* Most teamplayers have achievements/trophies in co-op games or multiplayer games.
Things you might not know about a teamplayer:
- A teamplayer doesn´t only play multiplayer games, they can also enjoy single player games.
- A lot of teamplayers prefer to play defensive, which often keeps them in their spawn area.
- You don´t see a lot of teamplayers walking in front of a group of players, they´re often in the back.
- A teamplayer actually loves being a medic/healer and can be a great help in a difficult fight.
- Not every teamplayer is a star player but they´re the backbone in a group that keeps it all together!
I don´t think a teamplayer has many enemies, well maybe people on the other team that hate you for working so well with others. But for that reason anyone can hate anyone else, still I doubt anyone would object to some help from a teamplayer. Of course a lone wolf might disagree, because they prefer to work solo and they don´t like it when someone else is following him or her. If you´re a good teamplayer then I bet a lot of people want to play with you, because it´s difficult to find any real teamplayers. Often there are lone wolves pretending to be a teamplayer just to get in a team or people that just don´t work so well with others, which often doesn´t lead to a satisfying result in a game. But let´s not forget we all have to learn and you don´t become a good teamplayer in just a day or week for that matter. I just hope that teamplayers know that they´re valued and that I consider them as a helpful ally in any game!
