Sinful Sunday: cheating

I don´t like to admit this but when it comes to playing with friends I can sometimes use some cheap tricks to win, for example grab his or her controller and throw it away from my friend that sits next to me on the couch. Another favourite of mine is to give wrong information about the controls, which means they´re pressing the wrong buttons and often lose because they have no idea how to control their character.

It´s quite innocent though, especially because it´s something I do among friends which makes it not that bad in my opinion. Of course my friends might think differently about that but sometimes you just do things, especially when it comes to winning I can be quite the scumbag to my friends. So why would anyone want to be friends with me? I ask myself the same question every now and then, but apparently I´m not as awful as I sometimes let others believe. But before you get all defensive about my poor friends let´s not forget that they use the same tricks on me, which is quite alright by me because that makes my cheap tricks a bit more legal in my eyes.

The big different between me and cheaters online is that I use these cheap tricks against friends, people that sit with me on the couch or with whom I play in a private match. I don´t bring cheats into online multiplayer with strangers or anyone else actually, because I think that´s just cheap and not really something I respect. I like to win and when I face my friends in a game then I´ll do whatever it takes to win. But when I play against strangers or in any online multiplayer match then it´s back to being the good guy and not doing anything illegal.

Sometimes my cheap tricks result in frustration, but I try not to make my friends angry. For me it´s just a game, when I taunt or use some cheap tricks. As much as I hate to lose I can take it, hell it will probably motivate me a lot for the next match! I don´t recommend cheating, as much as it might give you victories against other people it´s not nice and definately not tolerated by others. What you do against your friends in private matches is your business, I think we can all agree about that, but in online multiplayer we all have to stick to the rules and just keep it clean!
