Buy for the ´old´ generation or save for the new generation of games?
I find this moment between consoles always quite annoying, especially now when the Xbox One isn´t available here yet but games for that console seem to pop up everywhere. Which means I would have to buy it for my Xbox 360 (if that´s even possible) or wait for the Xbox One to finally launch here. But if you wait for the Xbox One then you´ll fall behind with progress and of course it´s not fun hearing so many people talk about a game you can´t really play just yet. Which makes it quite logic that you buy the game on the console you do have. The same counts of course for the Playstation 3 and 4, but the good thing about the Sony consoles is that you can play Playstation 3 games on the Playstation 4 so it´s not like you need to buy the Playstation 4 version. Something Microsoft just doesn´t seem to understand because you can´t play Xbox 360 on your Xbox One.
When I play CoD Ghosts and Assassin´s Creed IV then I know I can also play them on the Xbox One, but if I had to wait on that then I still wouldn´t have been able to play those games because the Xbox One still hasn´t launched here. It also sucks that you can´t play specific games that are only for the Xbox One, for example Dead Rising 3 or Ryse. So it makes sense to buy games that have already released for the console you do have, instead of waiting for a console that might launch in your country sooner or later. The problem is that the moment you do buy that new console you can´t play your ´old´ generation games on that new console. At least if you play on the Xbox 360, because so far I haven´t heard about any problems with that from Sony. It´s once again one of those things that really make me wonder what the people at Microsoft were thinking, well they probably weren´t thinking that much.
So what should you do? Buy for your current generation console or wait for the next generation console? It really depends, because if you plan to buy your new generation console in the near future then it´s probably a shame to buy games for your current generation console. But if you really want to play a certain game then it makes sense you don´t want to wait any longer, you want to play it the moment it becomes available. As much as I have my opinion about this I´m certain that this is really a personal choice, you´re probably the only one that knows what works best for you.
