Spoilers
Don´t worry, I won´t be spoiling anything so it´s safe to read this. If I´m going to mention something then it´s either a very old spoiler or I´m going to describe a scene from a movie or game without really spoiling anything. It´s kind of silly that I mention this but with all these people online that love to spoil things for others I think it has become a bit necassary to ensure people that it´s safe to read something. I think one of the worst places is youtube, because a lot of people love to spoil something in the comments. Of course some people will say that you shouldn´t read the comments before the video or not read the comments at all, but sometimes the comments just pop up in your face when you look at the video as sometimes the first comment is just visible if you look at the video. Quite frustrating when someone spoils something for you, unfortunately it´s nothing new.
I think we all know some of the most interesting scenes from movies where you can spoil an entire movie by just telling someone that piece of information. For example the truth of Darth Vader in Star Wars the Empire strikes back or the sixth sense when you find out something at the end of the movie. But games aren´t that different when it comes to spoilers, there are moments you want to discover yourself but then there is some asshole that ruins it for you. Even when someone tries to be secretive about it then it can still ruin something, for example did you know that someone dies in that game? Ok that might not reveal that much but if it´s a game where you didn´t expect someone to die then you keep waiting for that moment, which is annoying to say the least. Somehow some people have a big problem with keeping things to themselves, which isn´t that suprising in this time with internet and where you can post almost anything at any time. But what makes people spoil things?
Half of the time they´re just being assholes, ruining the fun of someone else is for these people funny. It´s sad and not really worth any time to investigate such behaviour. But I guess these people lead a sad life and that spoiling the fun of someone else is their only way of having some amusement and have a distraction of how much their life really sucks. Other people just don´t think about it, they talk and they talk and don´t realize that they´re spoiling something. Sometimes they just didn´t think about that and other times they just don´t care, either way it still makes them a douchebag in my opinion. I can understand that you want to talk about something and some people have a real problem with keeping something a secret, but to openly talk about it which a good chance of spoiling it for others is just stupid!
How do you avoid spoilers? Well the best way is to never go online, don´t communicate in whatever way possible with other people and avoid anyone or anything that could give away some information. Which is close to impossible, at least if you want to live a normal life. I can definately recommend not reading comments on whatever site you might check, also if you´re reading something then pay attention if someone starts talking about a certain game or movie because it´s possible they could give away some information. Unfortunately there is always a chance you just happen to read something and it´s impossible to unread it, once you know it then it´s going to stay there for quite some time. It´s not really the end of the world but it sucks, so be careful what you read and try to avoid any comments when you haven´t seen a certain movie or played a certain game.
