Dead Rising 4, just another zombie game?
I can hear the complaints already, another zombie game how lame! But if you actually played Dead Rising games then you know that these aren't typical zombie games, these are some hilarious and at times even ridiculous zombie games that are also a lot of fun to play! Is Dead Rising 4 also fun to play? Well let's find out!
Frank is back?
That's right, Frank West is back and kicking ass while looking good. He really goes for the ridiculous moments with his camera when he makes a selfie with him and a zombie or a lot of zombies. But this just shows how funny and relaxed this game is, because if you expect a serious survival horror experience then you've come to the wrong game! In Dead Rising 4, just like the previous Dead Rising games, it's not so much about the story but more about staying alive and getting a lot of kills. But it's important that you do complete story missions within the time limit or it will lead to a different ending that isn't the true ending. Frank has his camera and he can also combine items and vehicles to make some insane weapons of destruction. So it's pretty much everything you loved from the previous games and more, oh and of course with Frank!
Doesn't this get old fast?
I can see why some people would feel that way and if you have a preference for other games then it might not be a bad idea to put Dead Rising 4 on hold, because it doesn't earn a prize for originality but it does deserve a big prize for being a lot of fun to play! Just imagine you jumping into an exo suit, a item you can find and equip in the game, grab some bad ass weapons (you can also go on a killing spree with just the exo suit) and destroy half the zombie population! Maybe this seems like something boring to some people, hack and slash type of game with no real challenge, but crafting and discovering of new things does make it worth it to explore and just go on a killing spree. It's a great way to unwind a bit and get rid of frustration that you got in another game. But it would be wrong to consider Dead Rising 4 as some type of desert in the world of games, no Dead Rising 4 is a game you will love if you like to kill zombies and if you don't take games too seriously. Also you shouldn't have a problem with some brutal action because Frank will tear limbs off, quite literally!
Is it worth buying this game?
I think it is, eventhough you can probably beat the game in a couple of games it does leave a lot of options for another playthrough (especially if you didn't get the true ending) or just go for some mindless killing in this game. The thing is that you have a lot of things you can do, maybe not everything is super fascinating but the majority of the game is just pure fun and that's a good thing! Even if you consider Dead Rising 4 as just a game you can play in between the big games you will still have a great time playing it and once you are hooked into the zombie slaying madness then maybe you will probably spend a bit more time in this game than you first thought. If you do feel like you're going to get bored with it quickly then you can always try to rent it and see if this game is really something you would like to play.
