Sinful Sunday: Attracted to a character from a game?
This is something not everyone would admit and I understand why because it's a bit embarrassing. But is it really so bad to be attracted to a character from a game? I mean it just means you appreciate how someone looks and it also pretty much proves that everything seems to be working on your end. Because if you wouldn't be attracted to someone that you think looks good now that would be strange, at least that's what I think!
Fictional men or women are attractive too?
When you watch a movie and you're attracted to a certain actor or actress then that's not odd, but when you're attracted to a character from a cartoon or game then it's suddenly weird. But is that really weird? I think not, because it's still about attraction and if you like the way someone looks then it's only natural that you're attracted to this person. Even if this person isn't real then that doesn't mean that your feelings aren't real, because those can be very real. Of course having these feelings are pretty hopeless because there is no way you can be with this person, unless you create a character in the game and you romance the character you're attracted to. But that doesn't really count as a relationship, no matter how close it might get for some people. But saying that fictional characters aren't attractive is dumb, especially when you realize that some fictional characters from games are based on real people. Just look at Miranda Lawson from Mass Effect 2, she's a fictional character but her appearance is based on her voice actress, Yvonne Strahovski, and she's good looking. So is it really that odd that someone would be attracted to Miranda? Nope!
Attraction is more than just appearance?
Exactly! Sure it's nice when someone looks good but there is more to it than that. Maybe some people just care about looks but a lot of people also care about personality. So someone might look good but if he or she is a moron or rude then that isn't someone that is attractive to most people. In games this is more and more a thing as well, how behaviour can sometimes be the thing that makes you attracted to someone. For example a character that is very nice to you in a game or that makes you laugh in a game. In Dragon Age 2 most people probably went for Isabela and sure she looks good, but I think when it comes to personality that Merrill wins. But the thing with attraction is that it's not the same for everyone, what one person finds attractive the other person doesn't find attractive. I guess that's a good thing because if we would all like the same type of person then that would cause a lot of issues when you're looking for a partner!
