Friday the 13th (game), better than expected?

When I first heard of this game I wasn't certain about it, sure it looks cool but other games offered more in my opinion. For example Dead by daylight gives you different types of killers and the scary first person view for the survivors, to me this is a bit more intense but then I saw the Friday the 13th game beta and I knew that this game might actually be pretty good!

One killer vs seven survivors is fair?

You would think so but Jason is very powerful, he can grab someone and kill them instantly and what's worse for the survivors is that he can teleport! This teleportation can really be overpowered because Jason can be from one point on the map to the other in an instant. What's even worse is that Jason also has some type of chase teleport where the camera chases the survivor and if you time it right when you play as Jason you appear right in front of the survivor and can grab him or her immediately. This isn't just overpowered but also unfair because Jason can also sense survivors, which means hiding in a building won't help you much because Jason will know that you're there. Also if you decide to team up against Jason with your melee weapons you will be in for a nasty surprise because he will kill you quickly and at best you will stun him for a moment. Even if you find the shotgun or one of the survivors gets to become Tommy Jarvis you only have one shot that will put Jason down for a moment but I doubt it's enough to actually escape from him since he can teleport. I understand why they made Jason so powerful but I kind of wished they gave survivors a bit more tricks to survive an encounter with Jason because right now if the killer finds you then there is a small chance you can survive unless you get help or you have the right equipment with you.

What makes this game so intense?

The fact that Jason can show up just like that and the feeling you get when you're hiding and Jason walks around near you is absolutely terrifying because there really is not much you can do to defend yourself. When Jason is standing outside a cabin and smashes the windows and then breaks through the front door then that is quite intimidating because you just try to live long enough to win or call the cops and try to escape when they arrive. There is also a way of fixing a car but this takes some time and you need to get lucky to find gasoline, a battery and keys. It seems easy but it's not because the items on the map aren't always in the same spot and knowing that Jason can show up almost anywhere on the map makes it very risky to step outside because out in the open you're an easy target! But you can win as a survivor, eventhough that is quite hard against certain players who use the abilities of Jason to the fullest. Knowing that this is just the beta I assume that certain things get fixed and that the game will be even better but right now it has already left a very positive impression on me. So hopefully things do get better in another beta or when the game launches next year!
