A life without computers and internet is impossible?
Last week my computer was broken, just out of nowhere my harddrive just broke down. It was most likely because of old age because after six years computers are usually not that dependable anymore. So I had to deal with several with no use of my computer, which means no new videos I could upload on my YouTube channel and no blog posts here. It seems silly when you think of it but in fact I have grown a bit dependant of my computer and losing that, even for just a few days, means that I can't do certain things which is really weird and a bit lame. But can you live your life without computers and internet?
Life is easier with computers and internet?
Life is easier with computers and internet?
That depends who you ask, because some older people are quite comfortable without computers and internet. For example my father hates it and refuses to get familiar with it. But that also means that the moment he needs to do something online, for example for taxes or other things related to that, then that means I have to do that for him. I don't want to complain but this is something you can learn and asking other people to do it for you isn't something that I would want to do. If you really want to have a life without computers and internet then this is of course possible, you don't have to but it does make your life a bit easier.
Is it really weird to have no computer and internet?
Well you can try that yourself, don't use your computer for a week and see how you feel, I bet that most people aren't comfortable with that because computers and also the internet plays a big role in our life. Sometimes for ridiculous things, for example Facebook and Twitter, but sometimes also for important things, for example school and work. If you tell your teacher that you have no computer then he or she might not believe you, the same is probably if you say that you have no interent because now it is expected that you don't just leave your phone number with your personal info but also your email adress. So it is expected that you have a computer and internet, which isn't that normal for everyone. I got a computer pretty late, I was 16, and I got internet on that computer even later, I think I was 20. So it's not like you need a computer or internet but it can make your life easier and for school its often something you will need and teachers will expect you to have a computer and internet. So even if you want to hold on to things as they are, sometimes its not a bad thing to change and embrace the future. It's not all killer robots and time travel adventures!
