What is your gamer personality?

We´re all different, some might even say unique, and have our own dreams and wishes. But when it comes to games I like to think that gamers have their own type of personality, though often this is based on behaviour and doesn´t have to represent the actual personality of that person. But then again if you´re going to act like a douchebag online then it´s difficult for others to see you as anything else but a douchebag. So how does this work? Well I´ve made up some names, not original names but just something to describe that personality, and then it´s really up to you to decide what your gamer personality is. I´ve also made some descriptions so it´s easier to figure out what fits best with you.

Let´s begin with the least favourite gamer personality, the coward. A coward is someone that likes to use explosive weapons or other weapons that kill quickly, I´m not even saying that they don´t have skills but it´s often the fact that they want to get kills quickly in a match without too much effort. Another trademark of a coward is that they like to stay on the max level in multiplayer, so they never go into prestige. Which means once they have all the weapons and extra stuff they don´t want to lose it again. Campers are also a part of this group, because their behaviour is very cowardly. Cheap tricks like spawn camping or only using over powered weapons or vehicles point out to the cowards, they´ll never admit that and prefer to consider themselves good at games because their behaviour will sometimes lead to succes.

The next personality is the hotshot. A hotshot is someone that thinks (or maybe he or she really is good) that he´s good at a game. They´ll talk big and proudly have the MLG signs on their profile, but I´d say half of these people are just full of hot air. A trademark of a hotshot is that they´ll quickly leave a match when things don´t go their way, just to protect their precious k/d ratio. A hotshot will often take games a bit too serious, because winning seems to mean a lot to them and when a victory is denied it will not sit well with them. They can be the saviour for a team or the downfall, it really depends on the person and how big their ego is. They´re not always the hero you want, but sometimes they´re the hero you need!

Another gamer personality is the lone wolf. A lone wolf enjoys single player games, but even in multiplayer games he or she will often go out on his or her own. A lone wolf is not known for being that social, mostly because they just like to play games by themselves and move on their own in multiplayer. The biggest enemy of a lone wolf is probably a camper, because moving on yourself in a multiplayer map can be lethal. But also teamplayers will have a good chance to annoy a lone wolf, by sticking around him or her when they´re on his or her team and by using the two on one combination to beat him when on the opposing team. But a lone wolf with skill can survive is hostile territory, he or she will sometimes even thrive in it!

A rare gamer personality is the manipulator. This person loves to mess with the minds of others, like in the hidden being the one that freaks everyone out but stay calm while doing it. Also using weird and unusual voices can throw other players off balance, making it easier to beat them. A manipulator is often a smart individual and loves to talk, but he or she knows when to talk and what to say when he or she is talking. It´s difficult to beat a manipulator at his or her own game, but it´s fun watching videos of some people messing with others. This personality looks a lot like the prankster but for the prankster is just for fun, the manipulator is using his or her tricks to win.

One of the most popular gamer personalities is the prankster. These gamers have fun playing games and messing with others while playing a game. They don´t really care if they win or lose, they just want to have a good time! It doesn´t really matter if it´s online or offline, a prankster will love to mess with other gamers. His or her pranks aren´t always appreciated, but it will hardly ever make the prankster stop. There is a difference between prankster, some will just be teasing while others can actually bully other gamers online. So it´s not always that funny, especially not for the victims of the prankster.

A personality that becomes more and more common is the rager. A rager will get angry quickly when playing a game, both in single player and multiplayer. It really depends what triggers a rager, sometimes it can be something small but other times it´s a lot of failure. For example: dying just before a checkpoint, being killed by the same person over and over again in a multiplayer match, unable to beat a boss, other team members that annoy you. Deep down inside a rager just wants to have fun, to play a game and enjoy what he or she is doing. But because of the things I mentioned before it´s difficult for the rager to have fun, which often leads to him or her getting mad.

The last gamer personality I have for you is the teamplayer. A teamplayer loves to play multiplayer games and working together with other gamers. Teamplayers are usually social and often have their mic plugged in, in a team they´re often the support class and try to help everyone out. A lot of teamplayers have a lot of friends, because people like to play with them. A teamplayer will also play singleplayer games but will probably prefer to play in co-op mode.

So what is your personality?
