Too old to play games?
It´s not a secret that a lot of gamers are under the age of 30, but that doesn´t mean that there aren´t people above 30 who also enjoy playing games. Whenever I play multiplayer matches I hear a lot of kids, it´s not always easy to figure out an age but hearing a squeaky voice usually gives away that they´re not that old. But when you go online later you´ll meet people who are a bit older, it´s not easy to determine that because not everyone would tell their age to strangers and I can definately understand that. So where are the older gamers hiding?
Well I´ve seen groups online that are more for adults, so that should take care of annoying squeaky voices and immature behaviour. But of course not every adult is always mature, I guess you can only hope. But sometimes you also meet random people who are sometimes older than you think, which is actually a pleasant suprise. I have to admit that I prefer to play with people around my own age then some kids, not that I have anything against kids but I just have a preference when it comes to gaming with others. I´d like to mention that with kids I mean people who are younger than 18. But eventhough I have a preference it doesn´t mean it keeps me from playing with people who are a lot younger, I think the same counts for other people around the age of 30.
I like to believe that it doesn´t matter how old you are, as long as you enjoy playing games then what would be the problem that you play with others? I do think that people of the same age probably play better together then people of a different age, for example someone who is 15 probably prefers to play with people around his or her own age instead of people who are 30. There is nothing wrong with that, unfortunately your console can´t figure that out and thus there is a chance that you end up in a lobby with people from a different age. But that´s always the risk when you play by yourself without any friends in your party, you end up with strangers and that doesn´t always lead to the best experience in gaming. But at the same time you might make new friends or have a great time playing a game.
I don´t think I´ve ever heard anyone openly attack someone else in a game about his or her age and why would someone do that? You´re never too old for a game, you might be a bit too young for certain games but never too old! So if someone who is 50 wants to play games then that shouldn´t be a problem nor should it be for someone who is 70 or 90. But I doubt you´ll have quick reflexes at that age, so it might be a bit tough! My point is that there is no maximum age when it comes to games, no one says that people above a certain age shouldn´t play games. Maybe some people feel that way, because of what others said to them or something they feel inside. When you feel uncomfortable playing with others around you that are a lot younger. Just remember that we´re all getting older, the kids that tell you you´re too old to play games will become older and probably hear the same from other kids when they are ten years further in the future.
There will always be people who have opinions different then yours, but should that keep you from doing what you like? No of course not! If playing games is what you like then by all means play games and have a good time! I like it and you like it, so lets play games and have fun!
