Different sides, same idea
I wonder if I´m the only one that is annoyed by the whole Xbox One vs Playstation 4 competition. Sure some people will speak with the voice of reason and say that both are good and that they´ll buy them both as well. It´s trange that in their magezines, youtube channels and websites they can´t stop putting more fuel on the fire, because that´s apperently what people want to see and hear. But is it really? Do you want to hear how much the Xbox One sucks and how great the Playstation 4 is or vice versa? Do you actually feel better when your favourite comes out better at the end? I seriously hate this and I hate people who participate in this stupid nonsense. So you like the Xbox One more than the Playstation 4? Well good for you! Do you think the Playstation 4 is superior to the Xbox One? How swell! It´s just two sides with a different opinion and somehow people can´t accept the other side for having a different opinion then theirs.
When you think about it, then it´s just a sad immature schoolground dispute. Mine is better then yours, is not! You´re stupid, no you´re stupid! I see this almost every day in the comment section, even when the article or video they commented on has nothing to do with the new consoles. It really makes me sad to think that this is what we as a society have turned into, immature whiny little bitches. I don´t think that it can be stopped though, I mean as long as there are two people with a different opinion then there will always be conflict. I guess it´s just in our nature...
But this is nothing new, Nintendo and Sega are old rivals and people weren´t that different either. The good thing was that not half the gaming population went online to insult eachother for having a different opinion in the comment section. In those days it wasn´t even cool to be a gamer, so I doubt those type of discussions were even made at all. I was a Nintendo kid and my nephews had a Sega console, I never got into a fight with them just because they wanted to play on another console. If we visited eachother it was just getting used to a different controller and different games but that never lead to any problems in our friendship. Sure you´d blame losing on the different controller, but nobody had any speeches of how great their console was. Now it´s Microsoft against Sony, people have become a lot more vocal and that shouldn´t be a problem. The real problem is that people don´t respect other people for having a different opinion.
These days I´m not really suprised that there is a lack of respect for other people, I mean people rob old people and assault them in their own houses. So if that becomes popular then how could I ever expect people to respect eachother for thinking differently. It´s easy to cast blame on the gamers, but the people who ignite the discussion online with their stupid Xbox One vs Playstation 4 topics are really to blame. They feed off your arguments, seeing an increase of views on their videos and they know that this is how they get more attention. Don´t be a fool and fall for that trap, who cares which console is better or what others think of your favourite console. It´s about what you like and what you want! If you like what the Xbox One is doing and want to play games on that console then it doesn´t matter what other people think of that, because it´s your opinion and nothing what others say or do can change that! The same counts for someone who prefers the Playstation 4, if that is your console for the next generation then good for you! I hope you enjoy whatever you choose and have fun with the games you play. So don´t waste time insulting others online, that´s a fight where nobody wins and where everyone is a loser!
